🔵🟡 FXU GO THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS 🟡🔵
Old results continue to remain true, with FXU knocking Speak Out out of the Sunday League Cup after a hard fought fixture which the lads did not make easy for themselves.
After a disappointing start going 1-0 down, Theo rose to the occasion and scored his first goal in the first half ⚽
A second goal for the hosts looped in with 25 minutes on the board, but some solid substitutes made, it allowed the lads to come back fighting hard. Using this momentum, Theo managed to score his second of the game with 5 minutes to go ⚽
However, it wasn't all bells and whistles, as just before we went into extra time, Ollie Sutton had some words with the referee, which saw him instantly but controversially sent off 🟥
In extra time, FXU came firing, trying to set right the wrongs, which allowed Andreas to raise up and score the goal which was surely set to be the winner of the game with a brilliant header ⚽
However, it wouldn't be like the Union if we didn't over complicate it, which resulted in the opposition scoring and leading into penalties.
The lads made no mistakes with their penalties, with all the takers burying it directly into the back of the net, allowing them to become victorious and proceed into the finals 👏
MOTM - Theo, for consistently running for 120 minutes, scoring his two goals and making zero mistakes from the spot.
DOTD - Rather unfortunate, but Sutton will be given the award for the red card. 🟥
