Windermere office day, so I brought in fresh flowers from my garden. I was surprised by how many flowers were available to select from this early in the growing season. Abundance can be found in many places. What are you receiving abundantly this week?

There are some lovely properties available on Lopez Island right now: waterfront, territorial views, farms, and vacant lots. Ready to explore your own little slice of peace and tranquility?

I’m excited to share that I’ve expanded into a new chapter in my professional journey.

Over the past year, I’ve been following an inner nudge to take more than 20 years of personal real estate experiences and make it part of my professional path. Along the way, I had to navigate plenty of self-doubt, including wondering whether I could actually pass the licensing exam. And yes, the math questions definitely brought up some feelings. Hello, algebra. ➗📐

What became clear through that process is how much my past has prepared me for this future.

My real estate journey began in 2001 when my former husband and I bought our first home and entered our fixer-upper era. Since then, real estate has been woven through so many chapters of my life, including raising a family, navigating divorce, owning rental and vacation properties, stewarding family land, investing, buying and selling through major life transitions, and most recently, moving to Lopez Island in 2023 and beginning a whole new season of life.

Looking back, I can see that all of it matters.

The coaching.
The tech background.
The leadership work.
The stress management tools.
The lived experience of buying, selling, letting go, beginning again.

All of these parts of me have helped shape the woman I am today and the way I want to serve.

So here is the official announcement:
I’ve officially joined the Windermere Lopez Team as a Real Estate Broker, and I’m honored to bring my whole life experience into this work.

What I know for sure is this: real estate is rarely just about property.
It is often about identity, timing, grief, hope, possibility, and the question so many of us ask in different seasons of life: what’s next?

This new role feels like a natural evolution of the work I’ve already been doing for years through coaching, facilitation, and conscious leadership. I’ve supported people through stress, change, and important decisions throughout my career, and now I get to bring that same calm, grounded, and human-centered approach into helping clients buy, sell, and navigate home, land, and lifestyle transitions with less stress.

I’m especially passionate about supporting people in midlife and beyond who are exploring a new chapter and wanting their next move to reflect who they are becoming.

If you or someone you know is exploring what’s next in home, land, or life, I’d love to connect. Link to my website is in the comment.

And if you are wondering, I am still offering coaching and group programs because this work matters to changing our world in positive ways.

Something is happening inside our group right now that I want to share with you.

We have women from completely different walks of life — different industries, different life stages, different circumstances.

And yet, we keep saying the same things to each other.

"The circumstances are different, but the emotions are the same."
"I'm noticing how often I say 'I should'."
"We're not built to do big things alone."

That last one stays with me.

We are not built to do big things alone.

And yet so many of us — especially those of us in midlife — have been doing exactly that for decades. Carrying it. Managing it. Holding it together for everyone else.

What I'm watching unfold in this group is women slowly remembering a different way to lead themselves.

Not louder.
Not busier.
Not more productive.

But more present.

Asking different questions —
"Who do I choose to BE this week?"
instead of
"What do I need to get DONE?"

That shift sounds simple. It is not small.

What I know is this:

Women are hungry for space to do this kind of work in person.

Not a conference.
Not networking.
Not another room full of performance.

Just intentional time together — to think, to breathe, to reconnect with themselves in the company of other women who understand.

That is exactly what we're creating this summer on Lopez Island.

A weekend retreat. Intimate. Unhurried. Designed for women who are ready to lead from awareness instead of urgency.

If something in you just exhaled reading that — pay attention to that.

Summer fills quietly. This one already is.

Over the past two months, I’ve been in deep conversation with women in midlife.
Not networking calls.
Not “quick check-ins.”
Real conversations where women tell the truth.
Here’s what I keep hearing:
So many women are living in a powerful in-between season.
Not who they were.
Not yet fully sure who they are becoming.
They’re tired of hustling.
They’re tired of holding it all together.
They want meaningful contribution, real connection, and space to breathe.
And so many of them whisper some version of:
“Is something wrong with me?”
Nothing is wrong.
This is a transition our culture doesn’t know how to honor.
I’ll be honest. Listening to these stories has changed me, too.
It’s reminded me how much women are carrying in silence.
It’s also clarified what Cynthia Gene Coach & Consultant and I care about most.
We are opening enrollment for our Winter Session of Unlocking Conscious LeadHERship, a small, intimate cohort we facilitate twice a year for women who want to move from reactivity to conscious choice, and from exhaustion to aligned leadership.
We facilitate this circle because we’ve practiced these tools long enough to trust what they can do when women have steady support.
Our next cohort begins February 17.
If you’re in this season, curious, tender, ready for support, and also not interested in hustling your way through it, you’re not alone.
If you want details, DM me “WINTER” and I’ll send you the link.
If you’d rather talk first, we have space next week for a few one-on-one conversations.
You don’t have to navigate this chapter by yourself.

✨ Nature's Leadership Lessons

Sometimes, the most profound leadership insights come from unexpected moments. Today, while mapping my next quarter's conscious leadership programs, the Universe delivered a masterclass through a pod of orcas in the Salish Sea.

These magnificent creatures demonstrated the very qualities we explore in our leadership work:
• Grace under pressure
• Curiosity in exploration
• Clear boundaries (beautifully modeled by our mindful ferry captain)
• Courage in navigating vast waters
• Playful collaboration within their pod

In our Conscious LeadHERship programs, we often discuss transforming stress into strength. These orcas reminded me that sometimes, the best way to lead is to pause, notice, and let nature guide us toward more heart-centered ways of being.

🌊 Leadership Question:

When was the last time you paused to notice an unexpected teacher?
What did they show you about authentic leadership?
