NA Qualifier ✅

Great day for a wrestling tournament. The guys wrestled very well. We are making progress day by day and week by week. I couldn’t be more proud of our group and their commitment to improvement. It’s easy coaching this bunch.

We had a weekend.

Coach Fran’s Fly Fishing Freestylin Family Field Trip was a hit. We took a crew of 9 tough dudes north to Erie County for some well deserved time on the creeks followed by some great competition at the Edinboro Freestyle Qualifier. The guys competed like mad men and enjoyed time well spent.

First freestyle event of the season was awesome. We brought 5 guys to Lock Haven, PA and are leaving with 5 medalists and 5 PA State Qualifiers.

Howdy folks, I have a scheduling update for you as we begin the new year.

We will continue with our youth development practices starting Monday, January 5th and run a 5 week session (10 practices) that will conclude February 5th. These practices will be on Monday and Thursdays from 7-8 pm. Cost will be $20 per practice or $150 for the whole session.

Beginning Monday, February 9th, we will begin our post season practices for all PJW/Keystone wrestlers. These practices will run from 7-8:15(ish) and will run through the end of March. Cost will be $20 per practice.

As always, everyone is welcome and we love to see you all. We appreciate your support of the Bearcat Wrestling Club.

Hey everybody - we have a schedule update for you.

We are starting youth practices Monday, November 10th. Practices will be Monday and Thursday from 7-8, held at Wonsettler Physical Therapy. These practices are open to student athletes in grades K-6.

This early session will run 6 weeks through December 18th, with Thanksgiving week off (10 practices total).

Walk ins are $20. You can purchase the whole session for $150 during the first week.

This past weekend we took our athletes to the PA Freestyle State Tournament. We were in State College for three days. Three guys placed at the states and two qualified for the national tournament in Fargo, ND. Our guys competed very well - and found the next bunch of items to refine. They have been on a mission and this event really put on display the work they have done.

In addition, the guys got to spend some time wading through Spring Creek in Bellefonte, PA learning to fly fish (we are better wrestlers than fisherman).

I want to first give credit to this Inaugural Bearcat Wrestling Club Freestyle Squad. Small in numbers but large in heart, effort, attitude, joy, and laughs. We spent a ton of time together learning a trade in which nobody had any prior experience. 7(ish) weeks later we wind up with three state place winners.

Next, I’d like to give thanks to those that have supported our efforts so far. The McClure Family generously donated our singlets. The Ivcic Family provided us transportation for our long trips. The Taggart family made sure we ate well.

Finally, I want to emphasize our GRATITUDE for anyone that is still tuning in. Your attention and support from near or far - whether checking in on Facebook, attending events, sending messages, buying tickets, or sporting our gear - that support is what allows us to provide experiences for our guys. We attended tournaments in SW PA, NE PA, and Central PA. We took two weekend trips complete with lodging, meals, competition and activities.

We funded every wrestler that competed for us at every event, all spring.

It means the world. I can promise you that these wrestlers do not take it for granted, and are making the most of the opportunities they are afforded.
