DISCIPLINE= FREEDOM= Do what you can now with your body so you can do what you want later. If you don’t move it, you lose it. You know you’ve heard all the sayings. Here’s the truth- stay where you can & enjoy the process. You’re never too out of shape or too old to start somewhere.

I know carbs get blamed for EVERYTHING. 😂

And yes, cutting carbs can make the scale drop quickly.

But some of that early drop is water stored with muscle glycogen, not just body fat.

And if you’re lifting hard, carbs can be useful fuel for your workouts. Your muscles use glycogen during resistance training, especially as training volume goes up.

So if you’re training hard and your workouts feel flat, you’re struggling to get through your sets, or your muscles just don’t look as full…

Don’t automatically assume you need fewer calories.

You may need better fuel.

Start with enough total food and protein, then give carbs a place in your diet.

You don’t have to be afraid of bread, potatoes, rice or fruit to get lean.

You just need to learn how to use carbs for your goals. 💙

Some days I love my body.

Some days I don’t.

Some days I feel strong and confident.

Other days I put on an outfit and think,
“Well… this was a terrible idea.” 😂

But my worth doesn’t change with my weight, my jeans size, my reflection, or how bloated I feel.

And neither does God’s love for me.

I can take care of my body without making my body my identity.

I can eat the waffles. 🧇
Eat the eggs. 🍳
Eat the fruit. 🍓
Lift the weights. 💪
And still remember:

I am already loved.

My body is something I’m blessed to have.

It is not what makes me worthy. ❤️

Today marks 105 days without wine. 🍷➡️🚫

About 18 months ago, I decided I needed to make a change.

I was drinking 400-800 of my daily calories in wine(which is only 2-4 big pours).

I didn’t think of it as a big problem. It was how I relaxed, socialized, and ended the day.

But I wasn’t sleeping well. Recovery wasn’t great. And I was working hard in the gym.

I started learning more about how alcohol can affect sleep, recovery, fat loss and muscle growth. I guess I finally stopped pretending like it didn’t apply to me.

And I thought… well, crap. 😂

I was teaching women how to fuel their bodies while drinking a huge chunk of my own calories.

So I downloaded a free tracking app and simply started being honest about how much I was drinking.

I didn’t quit overnight.

I tracked it. I slowly cut back. And eventually, it got easier.

That big spike on the chart? Vacation. 😂

But look what happened after that.

Today I’m at 105 days without wine.

I’m not saying everyone needs to quit drinking. I’m not saying I’ll never have wine again. I’m sure I will. But it’s going to be more mindful now when I do.

But if you’ve ever wondered, “Do I really need this to relax? Do I really need it to have fun?”…

Maybe try tracking it.

You might learn something.

Because for me, it wasn’t a “bad” thing.

It just wasn’t helping me.

And honestly?

Eating those calories feels REALLY good. 😂

More food. More fuel. More recovery.

I’m always here if you have any questions or comments about my own journey- msg me.
