Unfortunately we have bad news Rebel nation!

Due to the current number of registrations received thus far, it is with regret that we have to announce that the Saukville Rebels Youth Football Organization will not field any teams in the 2023 football season. We have seen a decrease in registrations over the last 7 years leading up this point.

The Saukville Rebels organization started in 1961. With the lack of youth football teams in the area, Mr. Don Didier envisioned bringing the youth together and providing a stage for them to learn the great game of football. The Rebels were one of the four founding football teams of the AAYFL (wisconsin All American Youth Football League). This is now the largest youth football league in Wisconsin and one of the largest independent leagues in the United States. The Saukville Rebels gave the youth in the Saukville and Port Washington communities the opportunity to learn and play football. More than that, players learned valuable life lessons and created lasting friendships with both teammates and coaches.

This is truly a sad day. We want to personally thank all the coaches, parents, volunteers, and players that participated in helping make the Rebels who we were.

Were not giving up on a 2024 season so we hope to recieve more registrations for next year. We are currently planning a get together for all of Rebel nation.

It saddens us that The Rebel’s Nation has lost its founding father, Coach Don Didier, who passed away on January 26.

Back in 1961, Don had a vision of providing area youth with the opportunity to play the great game of football. It was then that the Saukville Rebels were formed. The Rebels played as a “independent” until 1977. It was then that representatives from 4 local communities met to discuss the formation of a new youth football league. The “Founders” at this meeting were Don Didier (Saukville Rebels), Larry Huffman, Tom Volke (Thiensville-Mequon Cardinals), Ron Heller (Grafton Gladiators), and Henry Sampson (Cedarburg Colts). The name of the new league would be the All- American Youth Conference, which would evolve into the largest youth football league in Wisconsin and one of the largest independent leagues in the United States, the AAYFL. The League also honored Don by naming a conference after him, The Didier Conference.

Although Don stepped down from coaching many years ago, he was always there for the Rebel’s program, whether it was attending home games at Didier Field, or behind the scenes, providing coaches with his vast knowledge of football.

Don’s love and commitment for the game, and in the development of youth players and coaches was second to none.

The Saukville Rebels give the youth in the Saukville / Port Washington area the opportunity to learn the great game of football. More than that, they learn life lessons and create lasting friendships with both teammates and coaches.

Rebel Nation, this week is our homecoming! We can't wait to see all the fans, previous Rebel players, and coaches at our home game this Saturday at 9 am against Whitnall. Come on out and support the Rebels! As a reminder the players will need to be at the field at 8:15!

Official game day tomorrow for the (1- 0) Rebels! Playing at home against West Bend East. Game starts at 4:30pm all players should be at the field at 3:30pm. Also please note we are looking for chain gang volunteers. Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you for all that made the first practice of the year this last weekend! We can't wait to see everyone for day 2 today. Practices will be held Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. We will stay in touch if something in the weather changes our plans!

Good evening Rebels Nation,

Just a reminder, that registration is open for the Saukville Rebels 2021 season. As noted in this latest press release, and in striving for safety first, we are looking forward to providing all players with state of the art shoulder pads this season! As most of you know, we provided brand new helmets two seasons ago....

Also, I am currently working with Burghardt's Sporting goods, as well as Silk Screen Specialist's for Team Spirit gear. As soon as I have this in place, I will forward to all of you. All will be able to order Rebel's gear well before the season starts.

Again, I am asking that that you register your players online (no payment needed at this point).

Also, if you know of 4th/ 5th grade players that may be interested, forward info to them.
