I sat down with three generations of Satellite Scorpion football players from the same family, The Mentillos.

Their patriarch Bob Mentillo was bringing the boom on defense all the way back in the late 70s. He went on to become an educator and coach his two sons Rob and Rick when they put on the red, white, and black in the early aughts.

Now Rob’s sons Landen and Gavin keep the family tradition going as Landen, a junior, started at defensive back for the Scorpions in 2025. Gavin is well on his way as a freshman and looks to join his brother on varsity next season.
