#27 Karter Kenniston

Kenniston was a reliable arm in the bullpen and as a starter on the mound. Kenniston saw time on the mound in 4 games, chucking 14 and 1/3 innings with a second team best ERA of 5.6. Kenniston started 2 games on the mound with a 1-1 record with his one loss coming in the playoffs in a 6 inning effort to the 4th Ward Cardinals.

CO Defensive Players Of The Year :

#0 Mark Maybee

Maybee was flawless defensively all year. The infielder saw time at shortstop and second base. Starting in 9 games, The infielder posted a .976 fielding percentage with the third most total chances on the team. Maybee also saw time on the mound, chucking 5 innings and earning a win.

#17 Griffin Shaheen

Shaheen was a work horse behind the dish. The catcher started in started in 11 games and had a second team best of 64 put outs and a team best of 12 assists. Shaheen also gunned down 1 runner.

CO Offensive Players Of The Year :

#7 Ben Salls

Salls started in 16 games this year. The outfielder batted .457 on the season accumulating 21 hits 4 of which were doubles and 2 triples. Salls also drove in 16 runners averaging 1 rbi per game.

#22 Carter Sturgeon

Sturgeon was a solid middle of the order bat. The left handed hitter started in 16 games batting .452. Sturgeon collected 18 hits, 17 RBI’s and scored 17 times. Sturgeon also led the team with 13 base on balls.

CO Most Valuable Players :

#8 AJ Campi

Campi was a force all year for the Expos. Campi lead the team in games played, batting .475 with a team second best of 28 hits, driving in 20 runs and also stealing 15 bags. The right handed pitcher also chucked 28 and1 /3 innings on the mound, leading the team in starts and wins.

#1 Lucas Gravlin

Gravlin was dominant offensively and defensively. The leadoff hitter batted .433 this year and led the team with 29 hits. Gravlin was a weapon on the base paths, amassing 36 runs scored and stealing 21 bases in 18 games played. The right handed pitcher also struck out 15 batters in 7 and 2/3 innings of work on the bump.

The Expos are looking to head to the title series in its first inaugural season in the Champlain Valley Baseball League!

The Essex County Expos have received the #2 Seed for the CVBL Playoffs. The Expos have an overall record of 14-7 and a league record of 8-3.

With the 2 seed, the Expos have received a bye and will not be in action this weekend. The next game will be on Sunday, August 3rd with the opponent and location to be determined.

Strong Hitting Not Enough As Essex County Expos Falls To Clinton County Senior Mariners

Essex County Expos fell 11-10 to Clinton County Senior Mariners on Tuesday at American Legion Post 1619 despite out-hitting them 15 to nine. AJ Campi led Essex County Expos with four hits.

Essex County Expos fought back after falling down by nine runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though. Essex County Expos closed the gap by scoring on a double, a single, a single, a single, a double, a ground out, and a ground out.

Essex County Expos got on the board in the first inning after Campi singled, scoring one run.

Essex County Expos added one run in the third. Bostyn Duquette hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-0.

Clinton County Senior Mariners flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring 11 runs on eight hits to take the lead, 11-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to left field by Landen Duprey that drove in four.

Essex County Expos scored five runs on five hits in the top of the seventh inning. Nolan Knight singled, scoring one run, Campi doubled, scoring two runs, Carter Strugeon grounded out, scoring one run, and Duquette grounded out, scoring one run.

Cedar Rivers earned the win for Clinton County Senior Mariners. The pitcher surrendered eight hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking four. Campi took the loss for Essex County Expos. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up seven runs on six hits, striking out one and walking five.

Essex County Expos piled up 15 hits in the game. Campi drove the middle of the lineup, leading Essex County Expos with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 4-for-4 on the day. Chase Clukey, Strugeon, Jesse Izzo, and Andrew VanNatten each collected multiple hits for Essex County Expos. Knight paced Essex County Expos with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Campi stole two bases. Essex County Expos turned one double play in the game. Essex County Expos didn't commit a single error in the field. Clukey had the most chances in the field with six.

Clinton County Senior Mariners tallied nine hits in the game. Duprey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Clinton County Senior Mariners with six runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Braeden Calkins and Duprey each collected two hits for Clinton County Senior Mariners. Warren Miller paced Clinton County Senior Mariners with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Clinton County Senior Mariners turned one double play in the game.
