Last Friday, Moka's Coffee House cranked out latte's and frappe's to support Shooting 2 Change. Their owner Morgan Kelley isn't just serving great coffee to North Mobile, she also has two boys who are Project Outreach members at Saraland Middle School and Saraland Elementary.

Thanks so much Morgan and all the workers at Moka's Coffee House that helped bring support Shooting 2 Change and spreading our message to others. And thanks to everyone who went out of their way to stop by Moka's Friday!

It means so much because it means so much! Go try a dirty soda today, they are our new favorites!

When does change begin?

That’s a great question because the easy answer is as soon as you start to focus on the need. However, when we think about seeing people with disabilities as who they are we think the earlier the better. That’s why we LOVE Project Outreach Saraland Early Education Center for showing us how to do just that. The students are in kindergarten and first grade!

Thanks Saraland Early Education Center for showing us just how young radical inclusion can begin and thanks for helping us to keep Shooting 2 Change the way we see and serve individuals with autism as well as other disabilities.

Last night at our Shooting 2 Change game in Saraland, we were excited to have Bake Blue Bakery join us. They were selling 4 of their delicious cookies and sharing their story with guests.

Reed is an adult with autism who is passionate about baking. After several attempts to find the right job, he and his mother, Deborah, decided to go into business together. Their hope is to employ adults with special needs to work and provide meaningful employment. They have purchased a storefront in Spanish Fort with plans to open this summer. Reed is an alumnus of Spanish Fort High School and was involved in Project Outreach Spanish Fort while there.

It’s not just high school gyms, but you can see Shooting 2 Change happening at elementary schools PE as well. We love to see our chapters like Project Outreach Griggs Elementary School promoting autism acceptance through athletics! Great job you guys!!
