Where did Farmer Keenan learn all the songs that the cowboys know?

Take a listen and see if you can figure it out before the answer comes in ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‘‡

Drop your best guess in the commentsโ€”no cheatingโ€”and tell us where you first fell in love with cowboy music.

๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ‘€ Grace can't keep still... and she's having a hard time keeping a secret.

We've got something fun in the works at Skinny Dennis Nashville. ๐Ÿค

We'll share all the details this Sunday.

Yip!

๐Ÿ‘‡ Any guesses?

One of the things we love most about this music is that it was made to be played with friends in a room full of people.

We've been dusting off some old favorites and working up a few tunes for this Wednesday evening in East Nashville. This one has been stuck in our heads lately.

What's a tune y'all been singing in your head lately?

We're playing Western Wednesday at Skinny Dennis on June 17!

We know posting about a show can sound like promotion, but that's generally how folks find out where the music is happening.

We'll be bringing plenty of western songs, cowboy harmonies, and fiddle tunes to Brooklyn's favorite Nashville h***y tonk. If you're in the mood for some music from the great western state of Tennessee, come spend the evening with us.

Either way, we hope you're having a mighty fine week.

๐Ÿค  One of our favorite memories from traveling West happened just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Our saddle pal Cowboy Phil (Lonesome Pinecone) suggested we reach out to Stewart at Chimayo Jackets for recommendations on places to visit around Santa Fe. Stewart graciously showed us around his workshop, shared stories about his craft, and then offered to connect us with the incredible Mortensen's Movie Ranch.

A little later, he called us back and asked:

"Would y'all like to come out to the ranch and shoot a video and take some photos?"

Our answer was immediate: YIP! ๐Ÿค

To stand on the same ground where some of our favorite Western films have been made was a dream come true. The sweeping New Mexico landscape felt like stepping into the movies themselves. We spent the day exploring the ranch, making music, taking photos, and soaking in a little bit of Western history.

We're especially grateful to Stewart, Cowboy Phil, and everyone at Mortensen's Movie Ranch for making the experience possible.

If you ever find yourself traveling through northern New Mexico, we highly recommend making the trip out to Mortensen's Movie Ranch just outside Santa Fe. And be sure to say howdee to Clyde the Buffalo for us!

Have you ever visited a place that felt like stepping into a movie? We'd love to hear about it in the comments. ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿƒ

Behind the scenes at rehearsal. Hours of hard work, careful arranging, intricate harmonies... and four grown cowpokes here to say howdy to everyone out there on Facebook! ๐Ÿค

We're getting ready for next week's Western Wednesday and having a little fun along the way.

Will we see y'all there?

It's Western Wednesday!

Here's Doggone Cowboy, a western favorite that's perfect for swaying back and forth. Thanks for listening, and we'll see y'all down the trail.

Last year we released our newest album, Over The Great Divide.

Some of you may have noticed that only a few songs from the record are available on Spotify.

As independent musicians, we've spent a lot of time thinking about where our music lives and who benefits from it. While streaming can help people discover new artists, we've chosen not to release the full album on Spotify because we want to support models that more directly benefit the people creating the music.

We're curious how others are navigating this.

What are some ways you're supporting independent artists, local businesses, and creators these days? Are there platforms, stores, memberships, or other approaches that help keep more of your dollars in the hands of the people doing the work?

We'd love to hear your thoughts and learn from what you're doing.

Over The Great Divide is available directly from us at shows and through our website.
