Feeling sentimental now that the dust is settling and it’s all finally sinking in. What a feeling. What a moment. Faces changed, places changed too, but one thing never did. the ties that bind us.

This club brought us together. And somehow, through everything, it still keeps us together.

16 years on from the start of this group and that fire still burns. Maybe now brighter than ever.

This is for the ones who were up at dawn with us. For the away days, the heartbreak, the hope, and all the s**t we took from rival supporters over the years….and gave it right back.

This is for every pint raised together. For the community we built. The friendships, the relationships, the memories, and the ties that bind us all together beyond football.

And this is for the ones who aren’t with us anymore. The ones we’ve lost along the way. The ones still with us in spirit every single matchday, and always held close in our hearts.

We may be scattered. And we may be long lost. But we will always have this. You’ll always be OC Gooners. No matter where you roam.

For the first time in seven years, we’ll take to the field for a Champions League knockout game when we head to Porto in the last 16 of the competition.

The Portuguese giants have struggled in the league this season but impressed in Europe, winning four of their six group games to finish behind Barcelona and set up this tie against ourselves.

In what is potentially a good omen for ourselves, the last time we booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition came courtesy of a last-16 win against Porto in 2010, and a first-ever win at the Estadio do Dragao would set us perfectly to replicate that ahead of the second leg on March 12.

We’ll be aiming to string together a fifth successive victory at Burnley on Saturday, and record a piece of club history in the process.

We’ve never won our first five league matches in a calendar year, but after netting 16 goals in our last four matches, that’s the prize on offer at Turf Moor - a venue we’ve never lost at during the Premier League era.

Wins have been in short supply for the Clarets who are without one in seven games, meaning only goal difference is keeping them off the foot of the table. To make matters worse, they’ll be without Vincent Kompany on the touchline after he picked up a third yellow card of the campaign in their 3-1 defeat at Liverpool last weekend.

We head to West Ham United on Sunday aiming to win our fourth-straight league game at the start of a calendar year for the first time since 1935, but more importantly, make it third-time lucky against the Hammers this season.

Having exited the Carabao Cup at the hands of David Moyes’ side in November before tasting a home league defeat the following month, the east-Londoners have proven to be tough opponents this term, and are unbeaten in their last six matches at London Stadium.

But with the Hammers yet not tasting victory in 2024, momentum is definitely on our side.

It promises to be a super Sunday at Emirates Stadium as we face Liverpool for a game that could be pivotal in the Premier League title race.

Our 2-1 win away to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night saw us close the gap to two points to Jurgen Klopp's side, before they went five points clear again with a 4-1 win at home to Chelsea.

A win on Sunday would once again take us to within two points of the league leaders and return to second place ahead of Manchester City's match away to Brentford on Monday night.

Arsenal attempt to post back-to-back victories for the first time in nearly two months when they visit Nottingham Forest in an English Premier League match on Tuesday.

With The Gunners opening their season on a 2-1 home triumph over Nottingham, this should be a fun one to watch-unless I just jinxed it!

Our final game at Emirates Stadium in 2023 comes when West Ham United cross the capital on Wednesday, and the east Londoners have been one of our favourite opponents in recent times.

We have won 12 of our last 13 Premier League home games against them, including last season’s festive fixture on Boxing Day 2022, and that coupled with our impressive home form this campaign means we head into this clash filled with confidence.

The top two in the Premier League go head to head in what could well be a pre-Christmas cracker, as we hope to occupy the number one spot by the time the big day arrives.

To guarantee that, we’ll need to achieve something we’ve not done for 11 years - win at Anfield. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 13 home games against us in all competitions since September 2012, when Mikel Arteta was in our midfield and Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla got the goals.

We have drawn on three of our last four visits, and after ending last week by finally beating Brighton & Hove Albion at home, Arteta will be hoping the three points he desires most for Christmas are delivered a couple of days early, ahead of the first of three scheduled encounters with the Merseysiders in the space of 43 days.
