***FRIDAY'S FEATURE ~ “A Conversation/Interview With a Young Author"***
Today, we're sitting down with an incredible young author who just completed her very first short novel in what promises to be an amazing series!
At only 19 years old, she turned imagination into reality, and today, we get a behind-the-scenes look into her creative journey, inspiration, and future as a rising author.
Q: What inspired you to write your very first novel series?
A: What inspired me to write my first book is that I have always been into movies and stories about identity, memory, and feeling out of place. A lot of my inspiration came from wanting to explore what it means to remember who you are and where you belong.
Q: At what moment did you realize, "I'm really going to write a book?"
A: It was not too long after I graduated when I realized I was going to actually write because I had a lot of free time. I've actually been wanting to write this novel for years now.
Q: What was the hardest part about starting?
A: Whenever doubt set in, and I was asking myself, " Can I really do this?" or " Am I good enough? The hardest part was the mentality and getting over the fear of actually doing it.
Q: Did you always know the story would become a series?
A: For the most part, yes, I did, since this book is emotionally-driven and based on the world of The Archive, it felt much bigger than one story, with more mystery and emotional journey to explore within it.
Q: How long did it take you to finish your first short novel?
A: A year.
