Full Rumble rundown.
We couldn't be there until Friday so I really appreciate Steven Berlin taking the buggy with his stuff and also hot lapping it Thursday night. It definitely helped set us up for a successful weekend.
I know a lot of people thought running our 206 package against the clones was gonna be a joke, but I think we proved that it definitely has the potential to hang. Starts were the biggest struggle all weekend, but it wasn't entirely the motor either.
I believe there was 19 in our class and we qualified 7th Friday, finished 3rd in our heat and lined up 9th in the feature. Brought it home right on the heels of a top 5 in 6th.
Saturday was back to the two heat format. Started p1 in the first heat and finished second. Then rolled up to 3rd from the back of the second heat. That was good enough to lock into the feature and line us up in 6th. Our group sat on the grid for a long time waiting on opening ceremonies. When we finally got started 4th place debeaded a right rear before the start (apparent slow leak they didn't notice) and didn't take off. Got stuck behind him and dropped to basically last. Ended up 10th at the line. Bummed that it got started like that, but that's part of racing and really nobodies fault.
Overall I am very pleased with our rookie run at the rumble with a lot of unknowns going into it. Made laps, learned a ton, and loaded it up in one piece. I can't thank everybody enough that had a hand in the entire weekend. Aj Roderick Erik Wolleson Joe Warner Kyle Feaga Scott Mills Jacob Dougherty 4WARD Project and anybody else I might be missing.
I also wanna send a shout out to Sam Stout for fixing a broken weld in a pinch along with our fellow 206 guys Scott Carson and Bryan Whited for the support and encouragement throughout the weekend.
