The WVDC is a premium studio located in the Bay Area that provides exceptional instruction to dancers from the ages of 4-18 five days a week. Talented, experienced staff members guide students through the wonderful world of dance in various performance and competitive teams: enriching a love of movement and performing that lasts a lifetime. Company History

In fall 2010, the West Valley Dance Comp

any was created for dancers craving additional performance opportunities and competitive dancing experience. The first dance team, the Dance Cats, was comprised of dancers in 4th-8th grade who began the tradition of performing at local holiday events and competing. The six dancers in the small competition group "Telephone" competed in regional competitions, winning various awards and accolades. Due to the success of the team's first season, the Dance Cats blossomed into two teams: an Upper Team (for dancers in 5th-8th grade) and a Junior Team (for dancers in 2nd-4th grade). The 2011/12 team saw the formation and success of multiple routines in several competitions throughout the Bay Area. That same year, the Dance Cats traveled to Las Vegas in order to compete in a Nationals Competition - where they won several trophies for their performancs. The success of the Dance Cats was observed by both the company and the community, paving the way for continued growth and potential. In fall 2012, the Dance Cats gave "birth" to the Dance Kittens - an invite-only, performance-based dance team for dancers 4-6 years of age. The Dance Kittens performed with the Dance Cats at many local holiday/spring events and became a huge accomplishment for the WVDC. So much so, that, by fall 2013, the Kittens were split into two groups: an Upper and a Junior Team based upon level and the coaches' recommendation. The same year, the WVDC sought to encorporate a more diverse group into the Company: an all-boys dance/hip-hop team titled the Tom Cats. The Tom Cats are comprised of boys ages 4 & up who also crave additional performance opporuntities and desired an introduction to the realm of dance conventions and competitions. Together, the Dance Cats, Dance Kittens, and Tom Cats competed throughout the 2013/14 season in various combinations/routines in dance competitions on the regional and the national scale. In spring 2014, the Dance Cats were ready to say "good luck" and "goodbye" to members of their original "Telephone" routine. Unable to comprehend the WVDC without them, the company designed a new team for dancers at their age and calibur: the All Stars. The Team is comprised of experienced dancers seeking to continue their dance education throughout their high school careers. It is with great pride that the WVDC announces the start of the 2014/15 season of the West Valley Dance Cats, Dance Kittens, Tom Cats, and All Stars!

WVDC Senior Spotlight - Joel🌟🩵

Congratulations to our senior team member Joel, who graduated from Adrian Wilcox High School. Joel began dancing at 2 years old, and although he has trained in various styles, tap is his all time favorite. Joel's standout WVDC memory was being cast as Prince Eric in WVDC's production of The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is Joel's favorite nostalgic movie and earning such a big role in both casts was extremely exciting for him.

In addition to dancing at WVDC, Joel also participated in sports throughout his childhood. More recently, Joel took an interest in photography and became on the the high school's yearbook photographers, while also serving as his high school's Student Life Editor covering school events from rallies, to homecoming, theater productions and school dances.

We are excited to see Joel broaden his horizon as he begins school this fall at De Anza Community College to pursue Law Enforcement..

CONGRATULATIONS to you Joel, we love you and we are so PROUD of you🩵🩶🤍!!

WVDC Senior Spotlight - Zoey🌟🩵

Congratulations to our senior team member Zoey, who graduated from Willow Glen High School. Zoey began her dance journey as a tiny tot at just 18 months old, and through her many years of training has grown to love tap & contemporary. Having the chance to dance with her dad in the recital's Father-Daughter dance is one of Zoey's favorite memories of her time at WVDC.

In addition to dance, Zoey filled her time volunteering at an animal shelter, participating in her school's Physics Club and babysitting. We are excited to see Zoey reach for new goals majoring in Biology at Foothill College while also working towards receiving her certificate in sonography.

CONGRATULATIONS to you Zoey, we love you and we are so PROUD of you🩵🩶🤍!!!

WVDC Senior Spotlight - Ramy🌟🩵

Congratulations to our senior team member Ramy, who graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School. Ramy began dancing at five years old with hip hop being his favorite style. One of Ramy's best memories was when his WVDC family came to see his performance in a sketch comedy show. For him, his teammates showing up to enjoy a night of laughter demonstrated their support of him not just as a dancer, but as a whole person.

In addition to his time at WVDC, Ramy participated in many clubs, was an avid soccer player, a member of the admissions team and performed sketch comedy. We are excited to see Ramy begin his next chapter this fall at Santa Clara University's School of Business to major in Marketing.
CONGRATULATIONS to you Ramy, we love you and we are so PROUD of you🩵🩶🤍!!!

WVDC Senior Spotlight - Lauren🌟🩵

Congratulations to our senior team member Lauren, graduating from Del Mar High School. Lauren began dancing as a tiny tot at 2 and a half years old. Having trained in many styles, Lauren loves contemporary, hip hop and tap. From floating on lazy rivers at her first nationals to getting dole bowls with her San Diego nationals crew, national competitions hold the most memories for Lauren. Performing on stage with her closest friends and winning the showcase together are memories that can't be replaced.

While Lauren was quite a busy dancer, she also played volleyball for West Valley Middle School & Del Mar respectively. A 2 time internship recipient from Mosaic, a non profit journalism program, Lauren has been published in the San Jose Mercury News and served as Co-Editor-in-Chief for Del Mar Dispatch (Del Mar's journalism program. Lauren is also the President & Co Founder of Del Mar's Sustainable Society Club & Vice President of the Asian Pacific Student Union. Most recently, Lauren became a WVDC staff member, teaching after various styles to the next generation of dancers.

We are thrilled to see Lauren start a new chapter as she heads to California Polytechnic State University SLO where she will double major in History & Political Science.

CONGRATULATIONS to you Lauren, we love you and we are so PROUD of you🩵🩶🤍!!!

WVDC Senior Spotlight - Hayden🌟🩵:

Congratulations to our senior team member Hayden, who graduated from Pioneer High School. Hayden began her dance journey as an 18 month old tiny tot and although it was her last style to add, hip hop became her favorite. In addition to dance, Hayden kept busy as a volunteer with the YMCA Science Camp as well as the local school where her mother is an educator. Competing at nationals and spending quality time with her teammates on the beach afterwards are some of Hayden's favorite memories during her time with WVDC.

We look forward to seeing Hayden begin her next chapter at California State University San Marcos to study Psychology.
