Cycling around the Bay Area. 🚴🏻

We are lucky to live in the Bay Area, famous for its amazing opportunities for outdoor adventures.
No matter who you are - an amateur bicyclist or a professional athlete - there are plenty of trails and parks to choose from.

We rode our bikes from the downtown San Jose to San Francisco avoiding major roads and trying to ride only in parks and trails. Although it wasn’t an easy ride, it was a lot of fun!

One thing we realized while cycling around the Bay Area - how incredibly difficult it was to find and arrange a bike rental.

Let’s see what we have to offer.

What do you encounter when renting a bike?🚲

The existing market of bike rentals does not allow you to get the service quickly and efficiently. We have noticed the following disadvantages of renting a bike through stores:

1. Inconvenient work schedule.📅 Rental offices open late, not earlier than 9:00 AM.
2. To use the service you need to understand bike specifics.
3. There is no possibility of delivery bicycles to a park🌳, users have to solve the problem on their own.
4. On average, up to half an hour is spent on the process of registration and bike preparation at a store.
5. To return the bike, you need to go through all the stages in the reverse order.

Last week, me and my friends wanted to ride bikes in a park🚲
⠀
We expected to be done by noon. But it turned out, that only by that time we got to a park. The problem was that we had not been able to get done with renting process quickly enough. There are several stores in San Jose providing bikes for rent, but they all open at 9 AM the earliest. I had to draw up a lot of documents, wait when bikes🚲 are ready and mount them. In addition, it took a long time to get to a park.🌿

During the ride, we discussed the inconvenience of current bike renting process. We thought about development of a convenient solution for the organization of outdoor activities in parks. ⠀
We‘ll be ready to come up with some idea soon.👍 ⠀
