Binary thinking is where people place things into simple boxes, like good/bad, right/wrong, healthy/unhealthy, only two types, friend/enemy etc. Non-binary thinking is where you empty out all those boxes and find ways of rearranging their contents that are a little more flexible, adjust the angle of vision, nuanced and that can reveal previously hidden qualities and opportunities.
