There were a couple DW team members who coached novice teams for NCIDBF, and our very own Janet Leung was CDBA Novice Coordinator!

Bryan Wong coached and steered for KPMG. According to him, the highlight of the experience was “helping Janet put together a novice team on just a couple weeks notice. Coaching allows me to share the sport with others. Building trust and relationships [was] also rewarding. Motivating a diverse group and unlocking their potential is definitely stimulating. KPMG was able to handle every challenge and finished Second in Novice Finals!”

There were a couple DW team members who coached novice teams for NCIDBF, and our very own Janet Leung was CDBA Novice Coordinator!

Jasper Hua was the primary coach for Webcor. He said that he enjoyed “teaching people the sport and seeing them learn to work together and paddle. Their happy faces at the end of every race is the most rewarding part.”

Thank you all, each and every one of you (teammates and supporters), for making Portland Dragonboat Festival a fun destination race.

There is a lot of appreciations to reflect on:
🚙 🛶 Steven for transporting our paddles and for an outstanding job steering all the races.
🥁 Nathan for drumming and making so many new friends that we got two lunches.
🪘Mildred for drumming for the first time and doing an awesome job.
🔥 David, Richard, Mikiko, and Deborah for joining our team for the weekend.
🐲 Mildred, Mikiko, Deborah and Margaret, Marla for paddling with the Stowaways.
🍽️ Tammie for coordinating team dinners and excursions.
