Screw ups are common with fitness and nutrition!

We’ve all had our screw ups…
1. Missing a few days of our workouts
2. Having a bag of chips or cookies…OR BOTH!
3. Going out with friends and going overboard on drinks

When this happens a lot of people tend to throw their hands up and say “F**k it, I’ve already screwed up I’m gonna do whatever I want!”

Screw ups…are a lot like walking down the stairs.

To give you an analogy, when you fall or trip down the stairs you automatically try and catch yourself from falling flat on your face and once you regain footing you continue to down the stairs.

Just because you tripped doesn’t mean you’re gonna give up and fall on your face right?

Same thing with your fitness and nutrition, if you “screwed” up and didn’t workout for a few days or you over ate at a party, your goal is to catch yourself from your “fall” and regain your footing and continue on your way.

Don’t let a simple bad day of eating or bad week of not working out ruin your progress and everything you’ve built up so far!

Don’t. Give. Up. Keep. Going.

The first question I ask my online coaching clients when I’m doing check ins is “What were your wins for this week?”

This is critical for them because we start off the check ins with something positive and focus on what’s going well in their coaching.

Anytime you have a win, even if it’s small…it’s still a WIN!

When you have those moments in your life, I want you to say these 3 words, “I DID THIS!”

Let’s all celebrate our wins together and say “We did this!”

This is why I became a fitness/nutrition coach!

I had a pretty intense conversation with one of my friends about fitness and nutrition.

We both came to the conclusion of no matter how much we educate and learn about it, there was one thing that we kept coming back to…

Which was that the human body is a fu***ng amazing, confusing, and smart thing.

There are always going to be arguments about which diet, fitness program, lifestyle is the best but honestly that’s not the case.

The human body is so intricate and intriguing, that we’ll never fully understand what goes on.

This is why I love being a fitness/nutrition coach because as I’m learning more about the human body and my own body, I want to educate those around me to make fitness, nutrition and lifestyle a priority!

It’s rewarding for me to see clients change their lives thru proper education and application of fitness/nutrition/lifestyle and for me to be their guide in their journey.

This online coaching thing has been a new realm for me to put myself into these last few years, but I’m glad that I took the chance to do so.

Make sure to take care of your body, because you only have one!

Fitness/Nutrition is a journey with no destination!

Whoaaaaaaaaaa what? are you telling me that your fitness journey doesn’t have a destination? BLASPHEMY 🤬

Hear me out… 😅

I’ve been doing this fitness thing for a while now, and one thing I’ve come to the realization during my journey is that there is no end or final destination.

The thing about having a destination is that once you get there…that’s it…that’s the end!

Let’s say that you get to your fitness/health goals of:
1. 6 pack abs
2. 30 lbs. of fat loss
3. 500lbs. Deadlift max
4. Increased mobility/flexibility
5. Increased muscle mass

Once you achieve your goals, do you stop your tracks and say that you’re satisfied and regress?

HELL NO, you keep going…you keep finding new things to challenge yourself…you keep improving your craft!

For me I started off my fitness journey with:
1. Body building
2. Power lifting
3. Olympic lifting
4. Kettlebell training
5. Animal Flow

And now I’m shifting my journey into fitness and nutrition coaching 👀, so the journey never ends and that’s the beauty of it!

Whatever you’re chasing within your fitness or nutrition, remember to be open minded and challenge yourself to always learn and get out of your comfort zone.

Don’t take your foot off the gas pedal, keep on going!

People are trying every fad diet on the internet…
People are trying various “detoxes” to cleanse themselves…
People are eating 1200 calories to lose weight…
People are killing themselves in the gym everyday…
People aren’t making fitness and wellness a priority…
People are doing random things for their fitness, nutrition and wellness…

All joking aside, I’m not the one to judge when people try and of the things I mentioned above because I fell into some of these traps in the past. 😬

But what I have a problem with is that these methods are unsustainable and is probably not the most effective process in the long run.

What if I told you there was a smarter, much more effective way to achieve your fitness, nutrition and wellness goals?

If you wanna be like Superman…you gotta do some DEADLIFTS! 😤

Coming at you with my strongest lift…DEADLIFTS!

Where are some benefits of deadlifting?
1. Hinging is a fundamental movement we all should be able to do
2. Builds muscle (especially the posterior chain: glutes, hamstrings, upper/mid/low back)
3. Boosts metabolism
4. Reduces low back injury (if done properly)
5. Improves your posture

Here are some of my favorite deadlift variations:
1. Conventional deadlift
2. Sumo deadlift
3. RDL (Romanian DeadLift)
4. Stiff leg deadlift
5. Staggered deadlift

My all time favorite would have to be the conventional 😤 but the other ones are great options as well!
