Tomorrow is National Coming Out Day, and I’m reflecting on what “coming out” actually means in practice. Coming out isn’t a single moment- it’s a daily calculation that happens in every meeting, every conversation, every new interaction. For years, I managed other people’s comfort with my identity until I found a space where q***rness and Pride was discussed out loud - not whispered, but celebrated at normal volume.
Visibility isn’t just about making someone feel comfortable. It’s about creating space where no one has to spend half their energy on survival strategies instead of doing their best work.
To my allies… your visibility matters as much as ours. You’re not just being kind, you’re unlocking human potential that benefits everyone.
To my q***r friends…. You deserve environments where you can be YOU. True allyship isn’t tolerance. it’s building systems where people can bring their whole selves every second.

Over the past two years I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the best individuals in the financial industry and incredibly proud of my capstone team- we have officially completed our leadership program at .

This experience has been one of the most transformative of my career. It challenged me to think beyond conventional boundaries, collaborate with talented peers from across the country, and evolve as a leader. What began as seven strangers quickly became a unified team with a shared mission: expanding NM’s reach and impact.

We didn’t stop at traditional expansion strategies. Our team reimagined how we can better serve diverse communities and explored innovative approaches to office spaces that break away from conventional models. This forward-thinking approach allowed us to propose solutions that truly reflect the evolving needs of our industry and communities.

I’m deeply grateful for the mentors, sponsors, and leaders who guided our journey, and for my teammates who brought incredible passion and creativity to every challenge we tackled together.

Completing this program isn’t an endpoint- it’s the beginning of applying the insights, skills, and confidence gained to drive meaningful change in everything that comes next.

His courage inspired the city to embrace diversity and create a place where everyone feels accepted. That spirit still lives on today, in the vibrant colors of the Castro, the iconic steps of City Hall, and in the hearts of all who believe in equality. Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, Harvey Milk’s legacy reminds us that hope, love, and community have the power to make a difference.
