Last night UnitedinOrange Tailgate had the honor of surprising Johnny Baki aka Johnny MilehighViking Baki and letting him know he was chosen as our 2nd UIOTG Hero of 2026! 🧡💙
Johnny served 8 years Active Duty as a Combat Medic with the 3rd Infantry Division, including an 18-month deployment to Afghanistan, where he received multiple awards for his service. After being wounded, he was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. After being honorably discharged, Johnny faced the mental health struggles and emotional strain that can come with serving on the battlefield. Through perseverance, he was able to work through those challenges and turn his experience into a purpose. Today, Johnny continues to serve his fellow veterans by helping them navigate and advocate for their VA claims. His journey is a powerful reminder that service doesn’t always end when you leave the battlefield!
His dedication to his country is truly inspiring. Even after everything he’s endured, he says he’d serve again in a heartbeat.🫡🫡🫡
And his love for the Denver Broncos runs just as deep. 🏈 His grandfather was an original Broncos season ticket holder, and Johnny has carried that passion throughout his life—even finding ways to follow Broncos games while deployed.
Today, he honors his grandfather through the Orange & Blue Network and his Broncos persona, the Mile High Viking.
