Starving is bringing breaking edge style and attitude to the San Diego and Budapest skating scene, creating a global unity through creativity. Providing opportunity for up-and-coming skaters while serving our community. Starving Skateboards proudly endorses them team skaters: Peter Forray, Louie Ciufi, Peter Katona, and Paul Sewel. Starving Skateboards was founded by Derek DeBetham after returning

to San Diego from a trip to Budapest, Hungary. DeBetham found a hidden gem: a bustling scene of skateboarders and skateboarding fans, but with no real skateboarding commerce. In short, DeBetham found a community of skateboarders engaged in the sport for no other reason than love. That is the spirit DeBetham strives to bring to the San Diego scene with Starving Skateboards. DeBetham found a partner John Jordan, who he brought in to design the graphic appeal of the company. Together, DeBetham and Jordan designed the company logo, the Phase One model, and the Top Ramen model for immediate sale. The two sold over one-hundred and fifty boards in their first month of operation.
