Beloved Jake Gebhart Chandler 9/19/05 - 10/26/25
Written by my daughter Sadie, βNot quite sure how to put this into words, but I wanted to share this for everyone that had the privilege of knowing and loving my brother Jake, that he has passed on.
Jake was my little brother, but most of the time it felt like the other way around because of how much I looked up to him. He was the most strong willed, determined, hard working, and loyal person. He was also completely unfiltered, opinionated as hell, and had the best smile and funniest laugh. He held himself to the absolute highest standard and lifted up those around him to become the best possible versions of themselves as well. Anytime I was struggling or had to get through something difficult, I would just channel him. He was the best friend that one could hope for, and this is made especially clear by how many people see Jake as their brother too. He was also so fu***ng funny and brought so much life into every room he entered. If you were ever lucky enough to hear Jake tell a story, and by that I mean watch him act out every single detail in the loudest and most animated way possible, then you know exactly what I mean. He touched the lives of more people in his short 20 years of life than most ever will. If I am able to positively impact even a fraction of the amount of people that Jake did, I know Iβll have done him proud. I am so lucky that I got to be his sister.
Jake, I love you and I will miss you every day. Until next time x
(He once made me listen to this song on repeat for an entire 45 minute drive, so thought it was only fitting)β
