Can I feed my fish?
This what a lot of people are asking.
During the winter months, as we know the temperature drops. When this happens nature slows down. By slowing down , I mean nature works slower and not as well. Because its colder, the metabolism's, of most animals slow down. This makes things ,like food digestion harder to achieve. If the food isn't digested , it cant be turned into energy. So what a lot of fish do is called
(Torpor). When fish are in a state of torpor, They will usually slow down to almost no movement at all. Generally they will settle in the deepest part of your pond. In this state they will burn a verry low amount of energy, and can live until the water warms up again.
When the water starts to warm and rises to around 55 Fahrenheit, It is time to start feeding them again.
Then its the fish will be as active as ever.

Well here we are again, Another year in the books, and a new year ahead.
From the looks of things, this will be a big year. The phones are already ringing and every day people are e-mailing. So, far most of the contacts seem to be people wanting to get on the schedule before the next guy. Last year some of our clients were forced to wait a few months.
Also the recent storms, and weather, have made the need for some repairs, and upgrades, to bring some water features up to grade.
This year, as before we are scheduling Pond clean outs and services, on a first come first served basis.
Also as before If you pay for the service in advance, a 10% discount is applied
This also applies to monthly pond maintenance. If the year is paid in advance a 10% discount is applied.

Hi, Everybody
This will be my last newsletter of the year, but in some ways it is the most exciting.
As we all know next year will be the 100 yearly celebration of Ponderfuger.
We all know the story of how Koiven and Hobart fell in love at the edge of the Elder Pond, Allowing us the opportunity to partake in the overall pond life, of tranquility and pleasure.
February 1, will start the week long celebration. Whether you celebrate with the parade of the fishes and toads or , like my family with the moonlight skinny dipping and donut fry. (Grandpa and the kids, like this part) It will no doubt be a party of the ages.
But this will put the Pondman crew in a flurry. With all the pond upgrades, light repairs,remodels, and even the pond cleanouts. The time will fly by.
So,If you wait until February, it will be too late to get it done in January. Get on our schedule while you can.
And have a Great new Year.
