Working on my Wa handles has been interesting and a lot of fun!
Here’s a 7” Petite Chef with a tapered octagon handle made from white oak. The rear side of the handle is slightly burned to accent the hamon on the blade - but that will be in the next photo…

A lot of steel for a special custom order… 9” Nakiri and 10” Chef in my Toxedo style.

Both blades made from 125c1 high carbon steel with a Hamon, hardness at 62-63hrc. Black paper micarta scales with white g10 liners and pins.

These are two knives made to make quick work of large produce, with ultra thin geometry and thin stock to keep the weight down and make sharpening a breeze.

Following a minor editing issue, I decided to repost the past 2 knives. This post has better image quality, showing the more natural finishes and true colors. I should also note that I made a small error with the finish. My eucalyptus knives all have an acrylic finish, not Tung. My apologies!

Here’s a Chef’s Knife, another example in my hand-crafted culinary series. Like the petty knife shown previously, I’ve used W2 steel for the blade, complete with locally-sourced Red Gum Eucalyptus for a handle. As with all my knives, I add a Tung oil finish to the handle scales, improving grip. I then add an extra layer of hardened beeswax for enhanced durability. Want a high-quality, hand-crafted Chef’s Knife for your culinary collection? Look no further than the excellent craftsmanship and the the price that Black Sand Knives offers!

I’ve been playing around with a side project to utilize some beautiful walnut off cuts that I’d been saving… these are four butter boxes with matching knife all made from American Walnut.

I still have three available on my site (link in the description) and quite a few other culinary knives that are available!

This has to be my favorite Hamon so far!

5.5” (140mm) Petty kitchen knife in high carbon steel with red gum eucalyptus I sourced myself from the La Jolla area of San Diego. The liners and pins are blue g10 and add a brilliant touch of pop.

This blade is one versatile tool in the kitchen that makes slicing veggies, fruits, fresh herbs or garlic a delightful experience!

And it’s available too :)

Marrauder framelock - my split 4” seax blade design in CuMai with a 52100 core.

The titanium frame got a two toned anodizing with a acid dip between the colors that created the depth affect between the electric blue and bronze tones.

Spacer and clip are built out of Copper to match the blade.
