A year ago today, I stood at the edge of a cliff in Costa Rica and jumped.
At the time, I thought it was about courage.
About adrenaline.
About proving to myself that I could do hard things.
But looking back now…
I truly believe God saved my life that day.
What most people don’t realize is this:
Professional cliff divers do NOT dive headfirst from heights like that.
They go feet first for a reason.
The impact alone can be deadly if you hit the water wrong.
And yet there I was…
diving headfirst off a cliff with no real understanding of how dangerous it actually was.
When I replay that moment now, I don’t see luck.
I see mercy.
Because the truth is, God has been protecting me long before I fully surrendered to Him.
Even in seasons where I was running.
Even in seasons where I was lost.
Even in moments where I didn’t understand the weight of what I was doing.
There have been so many times in my life where I should have been taken out.
And somehow…
His hand was still on me.
A year later, this video means something completely different to me.
The greatest leap was never jumping off the cliff.
The greatest leap was finally surrendering my life fully to Jesus.
That’s the leap that changed everything.
And maybe you’re standing at the edge of one right now too.
Not a physical cliff…
But the edge of surrender.
The edge of obedience.
The edge of finally letting go of the false identities, fear, control, pride, addiction, shame, or striving that’s been keeping you stuck.
I can tell you this:
God’s plan for your life is so much greater than the one you’re trying to hold together on your own.
Sometimes grace looks like protection.
Sometimes it looks like rescue.
And sometimes it looks like realizing you were never alone to begin with.
