Though it is something we do on a day - to - day basis, stair climbing is one of the best lower body exercises.
It utilizes the quadriceps, it utilizes the hamstrings, and even the glutes.
But what makes it so effective?
Well, if you think about it, each stair climbed is a quarter squat.
On ONE leg.
If you take 2 stairs at a time, that's almost a parallel squat on one leg.
Furthermore, your entire body is keeping you balanced, AND you are going up which adds extra resistance.
Whenever you encounter stairs in your daily life, think of it as a mini - work
out!
This mini workout may not bring results like heavy squats would, but it will keep your lower body active, healthy, good - looking and will more than likely improve circulation
and make you feel better, overall.
