Not every set of brows is a candidate for a cover-up and that conversation deserves honesty. 🤍
One of the biggest misconceptions about permanent makeup is that it should be redone over and over again every few years. The truth is… permanent makeup is still a form of tattooing. Pigment doesn’t just disappear, it builds.
I meet so many clients who had their brows done 20+ years ago, or have been tattooed 5, 6, even 7 times by different artists hoping to “fix” or refresh them. Over time, repeated tattooing can create oversaturation, blurred shape, scar tissue, and unwanted color shifts that limit what can safely and beautifully be done on the skin.
Sometimes the best recommendation is not another cover-up. Sometimes it’s removal, lightening, or simply allowing the skin to heal before adding more pigment.
As artists, it’s our responsibility to protect the integrity of the skin — not just say yes to every appointment.
Good permanent makeup should age gracefully and be approached with intention, strategy, and restraint.
Your brows deserve more than “just adding more ink.”
They deserve a long-term plan.
