The Midlife Glute Reboot

The Midlife Glute Reboot Strength training for women over 40 who are done with cardio that goes nowhere.

Iโ€™m Coach Gina โ€” former IFBB Pro, now helping midlife women build real strength, real glutes, and a program that actually works for the body you have now.

There is a difference between activating your glutes and actually training them. Activation is waking your glutes up before you train. Establishing the mind muscle connection. Getting blood into the muscle and telling your nervous system โ€” these are the muscles we are using today. Show up.

Training is then loading that activated muscle with progressive intentional resistance to create the stimulus that drives growth.

You need both. In that order. Every single session.
Five minutes of targeted activation before you train changes everything.

Have you been skipping activation? Drop a comment โ€” you are definitely not alone and it is an easy fix.

Five cues that determine whether this exercise trains your back or just tires out your arms ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ… Eyes UP โ€” looking up helps insure your delts donโ€™t take over
โœ… Elbows DOWN โ€” think: drive them toward your hips
โœ… Hands are HOOKS โ€” tight grip shifts the load to your forearms and biceps
โœ… Donโ€™t rock โ€” lats move the weight not the momentum
โœ… Let the biceps assist โ€” the back drives, the biceps are just along for the ride

If your arms give out before your back gets a pump, start here. ๐Ÿ–ค

You are showing up. You are doing the work. And your glutes are still not responding the way you want them to. This is one of the most frustrating things I hear from women and the answer is almost never what they expect.

It is not that you need more exercises. It is not that you need to train harder. It is that the wrong muscles are doing the work.

Your body will always find the path of least resistance. If your glutes are not properly activated your quads, hamstrings and lower back will quietly take over every single rep. You can train for months and barely touch your glutes if they are not switched on first.

Activation before you train. Intention during every rep. That is what makes the difference between going through the motions and actually building the glutes you are working so hard for.

Your glutes arenโ€™t broken. Your program is.

Most women spend years doing squats and wondering why nothingโ€™s changing. Itโ€™s not effort. Itโ€™s not genetics. Itโ€™s the approach.

Your glutes control everything โ€” power, stability, your knees, your back, how you move at 50, 60, and beyond. They deserve more than an afterthought at the end of leg day.

Swipe to see whatโ€™s actually going wrong. ๐Ÿ‘‰

The Midlife Glute Reboot was built to fix exactly this.

Which one are YOU doing? ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”น Elevated Glute Bridge โ€” Glute Max (full stretch + lengthened activation)
๐Ÿ”น Hip Thrust โ€” Glute Max (peak contraction, highest load capacity)
๐Ÿ”น Glute Bridge โ€” Glute Max + Glute Med (limited ROM, good for beginners)

All three train the same muscle โ€” but theyโ€™re not the same exercise. ๐Ÿ’œ

Save this. Share it with a woman who needs it.

If you are training consistently and still not seeing your body composition change โ€” your protein intake might be the missing piece. And I say this with love because most women are not even close to where they need to be.

We have spent decades being told to eat less. Smaller portions. Fewer calories. So deliberately eating more of anything feels counterintuitive. But protein is what builds and preserves muscle. And after 40 your body becomes less efficient at using it โ€” which means you actually need more not less.

A good starting point is around one gram per pound of bodyweight daily. Track it for one week. Just one week. I think you will surprise yourself.

More protein. Consistent resistance training. That combination is what actually changes your body after 40. Not more cardio and not another diet.

Save this post โ€” this is the kind of thing worth coming back to.

Are you actually activating before you move?

Flip the switch. Find the muscle, wake it up โ€” flex it, squeeze it, touch it with your hand if you need to. Have someone else touch it if thatโ€™s what it takes (proprioception is real, and it works). Get it on, lock it in, then move. Keep it locked in for the entire set.

This one habit goes a long way.
