Update on today's "effort." The plan was to get four miles in - only made it 3.75, and that was with some "stoppage time" on some of the hills. I have to remind myself they didn't name it Cross Hill. They named it Cross Mountain. A big thank you to my dear friend Michele Elmore who reminded me it is okay to stop and walk every now and then. I am NOT training for the Olympics. I also needed to be better hydrated - you would think I would know better. Also, I will skip the resistance band training with a medicine ball workout on Fridays ... perhaps move that to Thursday, so I have time to recover. I know I have invited some of you to join me at the "Hillotes" run on 12 October. There is a 5K/10K and 1/2 Marathon. I promise you this ... If you spend a few Saturday mornings at Cross Mountain before then, you will slice through those hills on race day like a hot knife through butter ... So, next week - I will again attempt 4 miles. Breaking from my "add one mile to my long run" mantra. Kind of like, if I can't lift 100 pounds 8 times, why would I try and lift 120 the next day? Have a blessed week!
