One of my favorite training shots ever captured. Grappling, wrestling, and fighting are languages your body must learn to speak. It takes a long time to become fluent. To be dynamic, and improvisational on instinct. No second thought. No pre analysis. Just trusting your body to do what you’ve trained it to do.

See the whole picture. The positives and the negatives. If you only look at what you did well, you delude yourself and you’re never going to evolve. If you only focus on the negatives, you dig yourself a deeper and deeper hole that becomes near impossible to climb out of. I’m proud of what I did well. I’m frustrated at what I did poorly. I’m disappointed in my performance, but I’m also excited to get back in there and show a better version of myself. This sport is a roller coaster. It’s unforgiving. It’s the best.

Thank you to my sponsors and . Their contributions made this training camp super manageable and I was able to take care of my body well leading into the fight because of them. Thank you to and for being my home, my gym, and my support system. Thank you to , , , and .morris for all the coaching you gave me. Thank you to Xavier and Melissa Hernandez for the amazing support and for making my awesome t shirts. Thank you to , my mom who’s been there for every home fight, and to my incredible fiancée for being my rock, my encouragement, and the greatest partner I could ask for. Finally thank you to everyone who came to watch me fight, who watched online, who reached out to me afterward, and who are ready to ride with me for the next fight.
