You say no to every dinner, drink, dessert, and spontaneous plan because you are finally “locked in🫱🏻🫲🏼
Then one night you say HECK YEAH and suddenly you are saying “yes” to everything, and a week goes by and you are ready to shut it all down again.
That is a pendulum…and a revealing one at that! Here’s why👇🏼
Your full NO gives you safety, certainty, control, and protection. But stay there too long and you begin craving the life you removed.
Your full YES gives you pleasure, freedom, connection, and aliveness. But stay there too long and you can lose connection with the woman you are becoming.
NO creates the hunger for YES. YES creates the fear that sends you back to NO.
This is your new “Personal Law of the Living Middle”:
“I cannot balance a version of myself I have not fully met when I haven’t fully defined and accepted MY patterns”.
Both ends of your range contain information. You have to see what each side gives you, what it protects, what it costs, and what sends you running toward the other side.
THEN you can define your middle. I helped a client discover her middle and her variance today (Hi, it’s me, Coach Casey😍)
If you don’t watch your pattern, you tune to society’s middle and to you, that will always be a fallacy.
Maybe you say “yes” to dinner and “no” to drinks. Maybe you order dessert this weekend and have a cocktail next weekend. Maybe you decline because you want rest, not because you are afraid of being around food.
The variances toward YES and NO still belong inside the “Living Middle” because you are consciously choosing them without disappearing into either extreme. Your middle is not a fixed point.
It is a living range where you can experience your life, remain connected to yourself, and continue becoming the woman you want to be.
Where is your fullest NO? Where is your fullest YES? And what could exist between them if you stopped judging both long enough to learn from them?
