I'm grateful for the opportunity to discuss mental health with these young men. I'm passionate about this work, believing it aligns with God's purpose for me in our community and schools. I've always dreamed of creating a mentor program that blends social-emotional learning with mental health support. Many of our kids lack the foundational guidance needed to navigate life's challenges. I look forward not only to giving back but also to learning from the kids, community, and schools. Our program has also launched an after-school gaming club to foster social connections.

Engaging Young Minds in STEM: Coach Mercer LLC and Coding with a Twist

For over two years, Coach Mercer LLC and Coding with a Twist (led by Sha’Rell Webb) have joined forces to ignite a passion for STEM in students across Houston-area school districts. Their collaborative effort offers enriching programs during school hours, after school, and even summer breaks, reaching students in Alief ISD, Houston ISD, Spring Branch ISD, and Texas City ISD.

Sparkling Curiosity Through Exploration:

This summer at O’Donnell Middle School, the program offered a thrilling dive into the world of STEM with three exciting activities:

Egg-cellent Engineering: Students defied gravity by levitating an egg in water, putting their problem-solving skills to the test through a captivating STEM challenge.
Building Big Dreams: They channeled their inner engineer by constructing a hydraulic excavator, fostering creativity and design thinking.
A Closer Look: Through grasshopper dissection, students embarked on a journey of discovery, gaining a deeper understanding of life’s intricate workings.
Planting the Seeds of Lifelong Learning:

Coach Mercer LLC and Coding with a Twist are dedicated to fostering a love for STEM in young minds. Their programs go beyond simply imparting information; they aim to cultivate a sense of wonder and curiosity that fuels a lifelong love of learning. By exposing students to the magic of STEM, they equip them with the tools to retain knowledge, advance their understanding, and potentially pursue future careers in these dynamic fields.
