Starting to get in to coaching athletes for Triathlons and Marathons. I will soon be starting to do this full time. I can do on-line coaching or meetup face to face. Why will my coaching be different? My coaching will not start with the physical aspects of training but will start with getting an individuals mind ready to start a training program. If your mind is not ready, your body will not be ready for an endurance event.
What qualifies me for training your mind and your body? I have always been a low mileage runner. My marathon finish times and my Ironman finish times have never correlated with the amount of training and hours that I have put in to training for these events. My finish times are impressive when compared to total trainng hours and miles. Why is this? It all has to do with the mind. Prepare your mind and your body will follow.
I have shared my training calendar with countless individuals who requested to see it after I finished my first Ironman in 2007. I received several comments of amazement and disbelief that I had actually pulled off a sub 12 hour Ironman with very little training hours.
