I spent over 20 years in bo***ge to the lies of the enemy trying to break free and find peace and wholeness in my body and how I saw myself in the mirror. I spent hours in the gym, meticulously counting macros, perfecting my body and found myself in tighter and tighter chains. It wasn’t until I was 30 years old and 6 months pregnant with my first child, in a pantry ready to binge and purge again, that I heard Holy Spirit whisper “this is not going to be your story anymore.” No program, no pill, no workout plan, no amount of weight you lose or muscle you gain will ever give you freedom apart from the Holy Spirit. You can achieve all of those things and still be completely and utterly empty and I can testify to that. It’s only where the Spirit of the Lord is where freedom is found. If you’ve been desperate to feel valuable, worthy, or enough and believe that weight loss or a more built physique will make you whole, I promise you that you will be miserably disappointed. It’s only when you partner with the Holy Spirit and surrender your brokenness to Him where you’ll be set free.

“The Holy Spirit is the Truth-Teller who drowns out the lies you’ve been told about your body. The Holy Spirit is the Author who can rewrite the story about your body that has been defined by lies and pain for far too long. The Holy Spirit is the Peace that replaces the fear you carry around food and your body. The Holy Spirit is the Guide who can show you what freedom actually feels like, and will walk you there, step by step. Healing your relationship with food and your body was never meant to happen apart from God. He isn’t a step in the process, He is the foundation the whole journey is built on. Maybe you’ve tried to heal without Him. You’ve followed the plans, tracked the progress, and read all the books. But healing that leaves God out of the center will only go so deep. True freedom, in your body, with food, in how you see yourself, starts with Him.”

2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

We are the salt and the light and we exist to bring God glory in our bodies, hearts, minds and actions. We are led by the Spirit, into freedom and into new life. Here, we call each other higher so we can courageously step into the purposes in which God has created us for. Each person who steps into this community is seen and heard and valued. We speak truth in love, and boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. We are here to make an impact in the lives of others and to expand the Kingdom. We are saved by His grace and we live unapologetically with Grit to finish our race well.

The Lord has delivered and redeemed me from Egypt and I will not return to that wasteland. I am thankful every day for what He saved me from. Thank you Lord for your goodness and mercy! You are a faithful and loving God.

Philippians 3:14
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Hebrews 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart

Stewarding our bodies is important. Our bodies are the temple in which the Holy Spirit dwells so keeping our bodies healthy has value so that we can live out the calling God has placed on our life to the best of our ability. But we cannot ignore the second part to this verse. The pursuit of godliness is BETTER. It’s a fine line and a balance between health and idolatry. When our bodies become our main focus, when our thoughts become consumed with: the number on the scale, appearance, losing weight, gaining muscle, gym time, obsessively counting calories and macros, stepping on the scale multiple times a day, planning your day and activities around the gym, body checking, or talking more about health and fitness more than you talk or think about Jesus, we need to get a heart check and realign our minds with Jesus. Our bodies were never meant to be idols although the world praises and honors those who are “dedicated” and “disciplined.” This is deception and pulls our eyes off Jesus and onto ourselves. So if you are finding yourself hyper focused on your health, come back to the feet of Jesus and ask Him to purify your heart and your motives.

Dear heavenly father, I come to you and I confess and repent that I have been fixated on my body and myself. I want to be healthy, but I don’t want to lose focus on what is most important, and that is you Jesus. Please help me to realign my heart and mind with yours. Fix my thoughts on you Jesus and Holy Spirit remove from me anywhere that my flesh is getting in the way of what you want to do in and through me. Topple every idol of self within me and sit on the throne of my heart Jesus. Help me to steward my body well while fixing my thoughts and my mind on you. Help me to have balance between my health and sitting at your feet. Thank you that you are always waiting for me with open arms to return my heart and mind back to you. Thank you for your word and your truth and protect me from the idolatry of myself and my body. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Abba, I thank you for giving us an armor and the weapon of Your Word to stand against the schemes of the devil and not leaving us defenseless. Thank you for the promise that you will fight for us. That we do not have to fear man or Satan himself. Forgive me for not taking seriously the urgent need to put on this armor and to never take it off because if I do, I then become vulnerable to the evil one who prowls around like a roaring lion, ready to devour. Give me a deeper understanding of what the armor means and practical application as to how I can maintain keeping it on and how to yield it against the enemy. Let me not grow weary in reading Your Word daily and please let it pe*****te my heart and be stored up in my mind to remind me of Your truth when the father of lies comes with his deception. Forgive me for when I fight with others or view my brothers and sisters as the enemy. Open my spiritual eyes and make me aware of the spiritual battle that is happening all around me and remind me that my battle is not with flesh and blood. Help me to love my brothers and sisters and even my enemies just as you do. Help me to see them through your eyes. I am asking for patience as I anxiously await your return Jesus, for courage to stand boldly against the enemy, increase my vigilance, diligence and protection against complacency so that I may keep on the full armor and never lower my defenses. That I would have laser focus on you Jesus and seek to honor and glorify you in all that I say and do. Thank you for fighting for me, for helping me, for strengthening me, for upholding me, and for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen!

✨4 Biggest Mistakes When Returning to Fitness Postpartum✨

I totally get it, I’ve been here myself twice. As an athlete and a mom, I know how challenging it is to navigate your postpartum body and return to fitness. But if you want to build long-term strength and athleticism, these four things really matter.

1️⃣ Skipping the rehab phase and jumping right back into your old routine
Your body just went through major changes—pregnancy and birth are no joke! Rebuilding a solid foundation first will set you up for long-term strength and function.

2️⃣ Not seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist for an evaluation
Even if you feel “fine,” a PFPT can assess issues like core weakness, diastasis recti, and pelvic floor dysfunction that might not show up right away. Prevention is everything.

3️⃣ Forcing yourself through hard workouts when you’re sleep-deprived and drained
More isn’t always better. If your body is running on empty, intense exercise can add more stress. Focus on movement that supports recovery, not drains it.

4️⃣ Obsessing over “getting your body back” instead of giving yourself grace
Your body just created life. It’s not about “bouncing back”—it’s about moving forward in a way that honors your body, your season of life, and your well-being.

Postpartum fitness is about building back better, not just getting back to where you were. Give yourself time, care, and the right kind of training!

If you’re newly postpartum and are wanting a roadmap to build back better, send me a DM for training options!

I think there’s times when we confuse what God’s love is with what we think it should look like. That’s why so many of us stand in worship at church with our hands in our pockets and with a heart posture of ungratefulness and entitlement. We have confused God‘s love with the evidence of the material things or amount of “prosperity” we have in our lives. If we have X in the bank account, have X amount of followers, the house, the car, the job, the spouse then we are blessed and loved. That is the lie that has swept through the American church. God‘s love and evidence of it is Jesus‘s sacrifice on the cross. John 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
We are all guilty of this and need to repent and get on our knees, confessing that our hearts and minds have been out of alignment with the truth of God’s love. From this day forward the cross has to be enough.

Dear heavenly father, I come before you in humility and repentance, asking for forgiveness for any irreverence, indifference, and apathy in my heart towards you. I ask in Jesus name that you remove entitlement and discontentment from my heart and fill me Holy Spirit with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the cross. Give me a deep satisfaction in salvation alone. Satisfy my every need and longing in you, Jesus. Fill my heart to overflowing with your unconditional love. Holy Spirit, would you help us to fall more in love with Jesus. Holy Spirit, would you show us how much more there is to love. I ask that you would open our eyes to see you and open our ears to hear you in ways we have never experienced before. Sit on the throne of our hearts King Jesus. We love you, we thank you, we honor and praise your mighty and holy name, Jesus, Amen.
