Maxey Scorches Course For 33 In Medalist Showing At Herrin

Senior Landen Maxey shot 33 as match medalist and Salem beat Herrin 168-185 on the road at Pine Lakes Golf Course. Jaxon Ward shot 41 and was 2nd overall. Kai Graham was 5th shooting 45, Scout Puricelli 6th shooting 49, Huck Mulvaney shot 50 for 8th and Grant Squibb shot 53 for 16th.

Mt Vernon won the South 7 Preview beating Highland on the 5th man tiebreaker as both teams shot 301. Marion shot 330 and Carbondale 337. Highland’s Eli Lucan becomes the first Bulldog, team or individual, to win a South 7 title in the school’s first year in the league shooting 69 for medalist honors.

Newton won a QUAD match Monday shooting 160 to easily beat Dieterich 174, Flora 184 and OPH 191.

In a dual match it was Trico beating DuQuoin 177-192 with Brock Heins shooting 36 for medalist honors for Trico.
