1. Ghost.
More specifically Charlie Brown as a ghost. (IYKYK)
- it's just a sheet. Cut two holes for eyes. They won't be in the right spot. Cut two more holes for eyes. They also won't be in the right spot... just keep going. I did this one year when I was sick AND the party was at my house.
2. Stereotypical Witch
- I only store a hat. Layer up some type of flowy black clothing you already have. Black eyeliner pencil for whatever. lips, moles, cauldron soot smears...
3. Your hobby
- One year I put on running clothes, an old race bib & pool shoes, with a pair of sneakers hanging around my neck. Comfortable, ok to look totally ragged. (I mean, you just ran a marathon! You're amazing!) - Other hobbies that = You + an accessory you love: Book lover (literally walk around reading a book.) Knitting, Sketch pad, Yoga mat, headphones & a gaming controller, scuba gear, hiking backpack, musical instrument, vase of cut or paper flowers you handout...
4. Your job
- Several years I walked around as a Flamenco Dancer. That was my job & I hadn't thought of anything else. So just like dressing for a gig. One dress I had was light blue with white ruffles so I skipped the makeup & grabbed boots and a walking stick. Little Bo Peep!
- A suit. When I worked in finance and as a doula at the same time. Guess which "co-workers" I hung out with.
- You might have a uniform, Apron, Logo polo (old job maybe), scrubs, WFH Zoom uniform (Business on the top, cozy on the bottom), Carry-on bag... Repeat after me: I am not at work. I am not at work. I am not at work.
5. Pajamas/robe/hair wet or in a towel or as-is
- Whatever is super comfy, easy, & you wouldn't normally get to wear out of the house.
BONUS: other holidays' decor
Key here is that you have around & accessible. Santa hat & a string of lights. Holi powder paint. Stars & stripes. Valentine hearts. Mardi gras beads. Noise maker, sparkles, new year's year classes from one or more years ago that are still right there because you haven't put them away because they don't have a place and you're not sure why you still have them and you can't just throw them away!
