The STMA Boys Varsity Tennis Team had a great day today in Becker winning all 3 matches we played today! We started off beat Brainerd 7-0 in a feels like temp of 24 degrees. Then we followed that up by beating Delano 7-0 as well. By the time we played Becker, the temps warmed up a bit but there were 30 mph wind gusts, but we prevailed 4-3 in incredible fashion!! We won at 1, 2 and 4 singles (all in 3rd set tiebreakers with Brayden Szarzynski fighting off 5 match points to win 12-10). We also won at 3rd doubles in straight sets to cap off the 4th team point and victory. 1st doubles almost pulled out another 3rd set tiebreaker, narrowly losing 7-10. First ever Varsity wins for points happened today for 5 players as well!! Miles Dalton won 2 matches at 3rd doubles and another at exhibition doubles. Isaac Dahmen won a match at 3rd doubles, 4th singles and exhibition doubles. Our 2nd doubles team of Pete Lidberg and Carter Faucher went 2-1 on the day while collecting their first ever wins for a point. Isaac Yotter capped off the day winning at 3rd doubles for his first win for a point after winning 2 matches at exhibition doubles. Great start boys!! 🎾💙🎾💙
