Alumni Spotlight

Appreciate former STJ wrestler Seth Thompson for stopping by the room this weekend and seeing how things are going with our camp and program! Seth was a 2015 graduate and is a wrestling coach at Blackman High School in Tennessee. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

Thank you Nate for coming down and running an awesome camp for us at our wrestling room! We learned a lot of great concepts such as shot setups & finishes, how to apply pressure, tilts, and riding legs!

The first day of the Pulliam Tiger Wrestling Camp went well! We have our last day of the camp tomorrow at 9-11am and 12-2pm for anyone else that wants to join!

STJ Tiger Wrestling Camp

We will have our first Tiger wrestling camp this summer at the St James Wrestling room on June 12-13 for all ages Kindergarten-High School. 3X Champion, 4X Finalist, D1 Wrestler Nate Pulliam will be running our camp. This camp will be a great opportunity for anyone that wants to improve their technique and level up their game for the next season!

We will have 3 sessions available to attend. You can pay $20 per session or $50 to attend the entire camp. When you get to the entrance make sure to sign in then pay at the door. If you have any questions feel free to contact [email protected]

Session 1: June 12 6-8pm
Session 2: June 13 9-11am
Lunch Break
Session 3: June 13 12-2pm

Location: Go down Scioto Street past the St James High School. We will be the small red building across from the Christian Church at the intersection of Scioto & Wishon Street.

Congratulations to Josh on an amazing overall wrestling career! He will go down as one of the best wrestlers to come through the St. James Wrestling Program for years to come! He is the 7th person in program history to become a 3X State Qualifier, the 4th person in the program to become a 2X State Placer, and the 2nd program Finalist! He is also a 3X Academic All-State recipient, a Conference Champion, has reached the 100 career wins milestone, and was voted 2nd best wrestler of the year! His amazing accomplishments will be an inspiration for the future generations to aim for! Josh was one of the hardest working athletes I have met and we wish him and all our seniors the best of luck in the next chapter of their life!

Congratulations to Zane, Josh, and Lucas on a great season and earning Conference Awards! Not only did they receive Conference honors, but they each were nominated as being one of the top wrestlers in their weight to earn a Missouri All Area Wrestling Nomination!

We had a great wrestling banquet to wrap up the season. Thank you to all the parents and coaches for everything they have done to support our wrestlers this season. Congratulations to our seniors on having great wrestling careers and going undefeated during their senior regular season and earning 100 career wins! Good luck as you step into your next phase in life!

Athlete of the Week: Josh Carpenter

Congrats Josh! He has had one heck of a season and career. Josh was the Conference Champion, recently attained his 100th career win, and was undefeated during the regular season! Josh has had 18 pins and 4 major decisions this season. In the post season he only had 2 losses, which were to the same kid. He got 2nd place at districts and 2nd place at State!!! Josh is the 2nd person in our program to make it to the state championship finals! The last time this happened was in 2017 when Drake Ortiz made it to the state finals in the 215 pound weight class. This is a very amazing accomplishment to be among one of the top 84 wrestlers in the state and make it to the finals!!! I am proud of how you finished out your wrestling career and am glad to have had the opportunity to coach such a great hardworking athlete.

2/26 State Day 2

We had quite the second day of state! Josh made it to the finals and Lucas was 1 match away from placing at state! Lucas battled hard this weekend, making it to day 2, but lost a tough one against Moberly. If Lucas did not mess up his knee, he would have made it to placement this year. Josh won his semi-final today and made it to the finals! He wrestled well against the Nevada kid until he twisted his knee and had to forfeit the match. Things may not have ended the way we wanted to, but we are proud of how well both of these guys competed this weekend. Congratulations Josh on becoming the 2nd finalist ever in program history!!! He had an amazing wrestling career!
