Did you know I have a Masters Degree in Stength and Sports Conditioning?
Try this conditioning workout. You’ll need a track or treadmill. I consider this a universal level workout aka all levels can do this.
3-6 rounds of:
2 min walk/jog
400m run.
Your goal is to hit a higher range HR that you can still breathe through on the 400m runs. So if that means walking at snails pace for the 2 min rest, so be it. Your goal for the 2 min walk is to get your HR down to a conversational breath.
Choose your amount of rounds based off of your 400m runs. If you can sustain the same speed during the runs, do more rounds. If by the third round your dying to just stop in the middle of the 400m, push through to the end, and then get a good cool down and try again in a couple days.
This is a beautiful mental toughness workout as well as physical.
