I am known by various names, including Joshua Galus, Woody Galus, Coach Woody, and Coach Galus. My expertise covers a wide range of coaching levels, from recrea
tional and little league to travel and middle school sports. Currently, I have the honor of serving as a coach for a 13U travel fastpitch softball team and as the Head Coach for a middle school softball team. Before my coaching career, I dedicated 12 years to playing baseball until an unfortunate injury prevented me from pursuing a higher level of play. Despite this setback, I remained actively involved in the sport by participating in competitive adult leagues for many years. After getting married to my wife, Tiffany, and starting a family, I took a temporary break from sports. I am now the proud parent of three wonderful children, two daughters, and a son. As my eldest daughter reached the age to participate in sports, I developed an interest in coaching. It was a rewarding experience to share my knowledge and expertise with her and other young athletes. The countless smiles, laughter, and genuine joy derived from witnessing their accomplishments brought me immense fulfillment. As I progressed in my coaching career, I noticed a significant difference between female and male sports in our region. The short seasons and the impact of seasonal weather on practice and training opportunities present challenges. In softball, while there are many options for pitching instruction and a few for hitting, specialized fielding instruction is rare. As a coach, creating a cohesive team atmosphere is a priority, but it can be difficult and time-consuming when players have different skill levels. Spending time to improve a player's skills to match others may cause boredom and disinterest among advanced players. This situation affects most team coaches and can discourage talented athletes from continuing to participate. With the establishment of Progressive Dynamix, LLC, my goal is to address the aforementioned issue. My mission is to provide coaching services to players of all skill levels, encouraging their continued involvement in the sport they are passionate about. I consider coaching a privilege and am committed to sharing my enthusiasm and expertise with individuals eager to learn and improve. Witnessing the accomplishments of young athletes as they achieve new milestones and exceed their personal goals fills me with immense joy. The role of a coach involves being a guiding light, a supportive mentor, and a caring individual. It demands unwavering dedication and a genuine passion for the sport. This is who I am, and this is the standard I strive to uphold each and every day.
