Natural consequences can be so hard to learn and even harder to watch.

The VALUE of said consequences are life changing.

“Don’t let your judgment get crowded by your care”

It's easy to get stuck in a destructive pattern of "protecting" people from the consequences that would likely be the wake-up call they really need. Don't let your judgment become clouded by your care. Sometimes rock bottom is the perfect foundation for starting over.

This quote came out of my 10 year old child.

All credit to her AMAZING teacher who planted this massive little nugget of wisdom within her.

For the longest time in more recent years, I have been troubled with the fact that our educational system has been limited in their approach and capacity to teach the very skills that changed my life as an adult.

As a coach, I began racking my brain, attempting to figure out how I could initiate change within the schools from the inside out.

How could I help integrate, plant life changing priniciples within the hearts and minds of our children?

Some of you may not be aware but as a former Juvenile Probation Officer and Growth Mindset Coach for teens, people would come to me with specific issues and burdens they faced as their children navigated through the public/private school system with little to no skills or "know how", training etc. to navigate the curveballs, the challenges, the setbacks our children would inevitably face in their lives.

Our children are already navigating their lives out there on the playground, in the classrooms, within the context of their peers. Its happening right now and our children are doing the best they know how.

I hit a series of roadblocks myself when discovering how I could impact change within this domain and I began to pray about it.

I am excited to report that people, professionals, administrators around me have risen to their call. As I was pondering my message to you this morning, it came to me through my daughter as noted above.

I am so relieved to know, I am not in this thing alone and that my children are reaping the benefit of not only my prayers but those who have risen to THEIR OWN call to affect change.

I want you to know, what you do and don't do in this life MATTERS.

Maybe you do understand, but the magnitude of your actions carries the potential to impact MANY and sometimes the masses.

Sometimes, your role might be as simple as a prayer for the right players to show up. Just be mindful of what role YOU could play right from where you are.

What is it that burdens YOU? Chances are there is something stirring, lingering deep within you that is supposed to come forth, manifest and impact change in our world.

I encourage you to move forward, get curious, and answer the call.

People are waiting.

I am ELATED to know that sometimes our part is to release our desire, the burden placed upon our hearts through a prayer.

How do we navigate our lives effectively without guidance, support, mentorship, coaching?

YOUR voice matters..

As so beautifully quoted by my daughter, this TRUTH has been illuminated.

"I am NOT used to this."

"This doesn't make any sense to me."

"This is different than anything I've EVER experienced before."

"I'm not sure how to feel or navigate this NEW territory."

Doubt, Fear, Insecurity, Confusion will come as a result of these thoughts.

Thoughts that come when we are offered a new path, a new opportunity, a new choice, a new season, a new relationship, a new career, a new ANYTHING.

Your brain will attempt to pull you back into the familiar because it can't predict the NEW. It wants to seek more of what it already knows even if its good for you. Here is what's so powerful about becoming aware of this:

You get to become your own best student of your own brain by first noticing its tendencies and navigating based on your highest good, based on what's right for you now, based on what's attempting to flow in your life now.

You are never truly stuck, you are just navigating a new area of life that your brain is attempting to process and learn how to do.

LEAN IN and be onto your own brain.

Chances are, there are miracles headed your way and they are strategically positioned along your new path to bless you.

Your human brain will catch up.

Most people experience fear and retreat, as expected, and entertain that they are moving in the wrong direction when in fact it IS the way to go.

It's just a NEW way.

What if you were to remind yourself that THIS new thing, whatever that is for you, is not a problem?

It's NEW.

It's an opportunity my friend and you won't be able to find what your brain is NOT looking for until you direct it to.

Things are changing for you, its a new day, with new possibility.

What if all you had to do was become aware of your own mind, keep moving, and receive what's already yours?

Every single human has the opportunity to "get stuck" in old patterns, mental loops, and habits of reacting.

The truth is you always have an opportunity to shift and mold that into something new. You don't HAVE to continue "repeating" ANYTHING.

You have heard the saying "get out of your own way"...

But what does that REALLY mean?

It means you are keeping yourself STUCK because you would rather FEEL COMFORTABLE with the challenges you know how to navigate than moving forward and BUSTING THROUGH what has always held you back.

It takes effort guys. It really does.

STEP OUT.

Stop "thinking" about if you "should" or "shouldn't" because meditating on that?

Is what's paralyzing you and killing your confidence.

I am not saying to practice a lack of wisdom here.

I am saying that it's too EASY to claim that you are practicing wisdom when really you are too afraid to do something about it.

As John Maxwell has said..."most people are more comfortable with OLD problems than they are with new solutions."

Be Courageous Guys.

Move into something NEW.

WHO is in this space?

Let me tell you I am the one that will help move you along and empower you to stay focused on what YOU can do.

YET:

I'm also the one who understands how your EMOTIONS can take a toll on your capacity to see clearly and consistent over time.

It's OK that you don't quite understand what you are thinking and feeling.

By this point in the game, feelings like grief and tremendous amounts of loss surround us.

IT'S OK to acknowledge and ALLOW...

ACKNOWLEDGE AND ALLOW

WHAT.YOU.FEEL.

It will move through and you will continue to move forward.

After you sit with it and "slow down to speed up", the fog begins to clear and the next right step will begin to unfold as you continue to step it out.

Release the pressure to KNOW & HAVE...

ALL.
OF.
THE.
ANSWERS.

It's time.

It's time.

It's FINALLY Time.

TIME?

It's what we have right now.

AND:

It's the same amount of time you have ALWAYS HAD.

The difference is THIS:

You have been given the TIME to re-evaluate your priorities.

YOU have been given the time TO CLEAR OUT the chaos.

YOU have been given the opportunity to FIGURE OUT who you are and where you are headed NEXT.

Guys there is a NEXT.

What will you CHOOSE to do with the GIFT OF TIME to develop yourself?

TIME WILL NOT CHANGE.

EVER.

What CAN change is YOU.

You the HUMAN.

What are you going to DO with the GIFT you have been GIVEN....

You are being given the time, space, and opportunity to dig deep and do the work.

You are "trying" to grow here and other people are getting in your way, doing the opposite of what you intend to do and its frustrating you.

The voices and actions around you are keeping you stuck, are distracting to say the least and you can't seem to stay in a mentally and emotionally stable place.

Here is the deal, what you used to rely on to get you through stressful and challenging times, MAY NOT WORK IN THIS SEASON.

In fact I'm guessing that old season has run its course. What tools and practices do you want to learn that will help you navigate the current season you are in NOW?
