We are dedicated to fulfilling our mission; to inspire children to be the best version of themselves by bridging the gap between students, parents, and learning with innovative solutions and parental support. Since our launch in 2019, ExcelChoice Education has held multiple workshops that have impacted over 60 families providing assistance in finding the best tools and practices to better coach an

d communicate with their child(ren) academically. One of our featured services includes a group reading cohort that brings six students together with one academic coach on a weekly basis for 3 months, 3 times a week, for one hour. It is our purpose to create a learning environment that focuses on building skills and not the completion of the assignment. Within our time together we hone in on the impact collaboration and individual confidence building has as it pertains to their learning journey. At ExcelChoice Education we pride ourselves in operating in excellence and expect nothing less from our academic coaches. Everyone on our team has a range of 5+ years of experience in tutoring, classroom teaching, or certifications in reading or english. It is our hope to come together and create a world where opportunity meets learning.

Since being in Dubai, I have learned so much about their education system, their parents, and their kids.

One thing I've learned that has really stood out to me is that the parents here are very willing to invest in their child's education!

When I say they are willing to invest, I mean that they are quick to invest big bucks into their child's education. They will pay to send their children to the best schools. They will pay to make sure their children has the best tutors.

I admire their willingness but not because they are willing to invest money into their children. I admire their willingness because they do what it takes to see their children succeed 👏🏽

Teaching your child isn’t just a teacher’s responsibility. It’s your responsibility, too!

Someone had to say it 🤷🏽‍♀️

You can’t expect your child to thrive academically if you aren’t willing to do your part as the parent.

You have to be willing to do the work to figure out your child’s learning style. You have to be willing to put your pride and stubbornness to the side in order to support them in the way they need to be supported.

Astro 2 Classroom provides everything you need to interpret your children’s charts so that you can support, teach, and uplift them in an effective way.

If you feel like you've done everything to help your child learn how to read but nothing is working, this post is for you 💁🏽‍♀️

Sometimes the problem isn't in what you're doing. It's in how you are doing it.

Every child soaks up new information differently and a lot of that depends on their personality and learning style.

Take a step back and think about your child's personality.

🤔 What do they get the most joy out of?

🤔 What type of books are they most interested in?

🤔 What are their pet peeves?

Understanding your child's personality can help you develop a strategy for supporting them as they learn how to read. Use what you know to inspire them to read, minimize distractions and frustrations, and create a new approach for learning.

So if you haven't thought about your child's personality or learning style when it comes to reading, you haven't tried everything 🤷🏽‍♀️

And I'm not just asking because I'm a reading coach 🤭

I'm asking because I've seen how hard you've been working to help your child reach the next level in their academics.

You've been trying to be more patient.
You've been trying to be more involved.
You've been trying to be more understanding.

But it just doesn't feel like it's enough. Am I reading the room right?

Hard pill to swallow 👇🏽

The best way to learn how to be patient with your child is to learn how to be patient with yourself.

Helping your child learn how to read is not easy. Trust me, I get it!

But it becomes even harder to be patient with your child when you struggle with extending grace to yourself.

🤔 Do you put pressure on yourself to get something right on your first try?
🤔 Do you beat yourself up when you're struggling to learn something new?
🤔 Do you get frustrated with yourself way too often?

If you said yes to any of those questions, the lack of patience you have for yourself could be pouring into how you support your child with reading, learning, or adapting to change.

Whoever told you that emotions & learning don't go hand in hand was lying to you 👀

The reality is that your child's emotions AND their learning experience are one in the same.

Think about it this way 👇🏽

When a kid is hungry, it's hard for them to focus.

When a child is anxious, it's hard for them to produce good work.

🙅🏽‍♀️ We no longer live in a world where we can separate education and cognitive learning from a child's emotional state. When you recognize the role of emotions in learning, we can create learning and teaching experiences where the child is engaged, inspired, and fully supported.
