During my time in college in the 1990s, I gained experience in restaurant kitchens: prep cook, pizza/ pasta, sauté, grill, breads & pastries... This is my appreciation of the art of cooking and the world of food. While the name of the blog might seem a bit puzzling at first, it perfectly combines these two hobbies of mine, though I can't always say which one I prefer more! My culinary adventure be

gan back in high school, thanks to a unique deal with my parents. They offered me a car with a monthly payment of $186. I had to cover the payment, insurance, gas, and maintenance. This challenge led me to my first job in a restaurant, introduced to me by my eldest brother. Starting as a dishwasher, I embarked on a 12-year journey in the culinary world, culminating in the role of an executive chef and mentor to interns from a local culinary academy. It's been 30 years since my last professional stint in a restaurant, but my enthusiasm for cooking has only grown stronger with time. This is great advice from Chef Ramsay. In my 35 years of cycling, I never really used my helmet until New Year's Eve 2021. Sydni, some friends, and I set out to ride 100 miles. At mile 70, I clipped a pole, went over the handlebars, and landed on the back of my head. My POC helmet took the impact and saved me from serious head injury. I recovered from broken ribs, and my separated shoulder required two surgeries to heal.
