Oak Hill's Rocket League season ended last night in the playoff semifinals, as the Raiders fell to the undefeated Noble Knights 4-1.
The Noble Knights had not lost a game (each match consist of a best of 5 games) prior to the match. The Raiders broke a 28 game win stream (24 games in regular season, plus 4 in the best of 7 round 1 for postseason), to bring the Noble Knights to 32-1 on the season for games played.
Josh Starbird led the offensive push, with 5 goals, while also providing 2 assists, and 7 saves. Dylan McFarland contributed to the offense, with 3 goals, as well as getting 3 saves. Michael Littlefield, filling in for absent starter Ayden Reardon, provided a strong defensive effort, with 9 saves, and 1 assists (no goals).
The Raiders are proud to have made semi-finals, as well as being the first team to win a game against the Noble Knights, and scoring 4 goals in the game the won, when the Knights had previously prevented a team from scoring more than 4 goals in an entire 3 game match.
With Josh Starbird and Dyland McFarland graduating, the Raiders look to Ayden Reardon and Michael Littlefield to lead the charge next year, and help develop new players.

The Oak Hill Super Smash Bros team season came to a disappointing end today, with a 3-0 loss against the Number 2 seeded Belfast Area High School.
TJ Cutting played the first round, losing against a strong Steve player, who was able to defeat TJ's Sora 0-2.
Brody Beganny fought hard in round 2, nearly winning the first fight against a Pokemon Trainer player vs Brody's Sephiroth, before a technical glitch shifted the momentum, and his opponent was able to turn the tide, defeating Brody 0-2.
Dominic Bubier looked to turn things around in round 3. After losing in the first fight, with Dominic's Terry being defeated by Kazuya, Dominic managed to claw back and ensure that the Raiders got on the board. Unfortunately, in Dominic's third fight, his opponent swapped to Sephiroth, and was able to secure the victory for Belfast, defeating Dominic 1-2.
While the Raiders are disappointed to see our season end before making the State Championship game, we are excited that our young team, with two sophomore starters, made it to the semi-finals in their first season. We look forward to continued success, and are already looking ahead to next season.

The Rocket League semi-final between OHHS and Noble High School will be played tomorrow, 2 May, at 4pm, with the number 5 seeded Raiders hoping to defeat the number 1 seeded Noble High School, and earn a place in the State Championship Game on May 4th.

Due to forfeit, the OHHS Super Smash Bros team has continued their playoff run, and will face Belfast Area High School's team on Wednesday, May 1st, at 4pm in the semifinals.
If the Raiders win their match on Wednesday, they will participate in the State Championship on Saturday, May 4th, to face off against the winner of the Cape Elizabeth vs Noble High School.

OHHS eSports Rocket League time won an incredible back and forth match against the Messalonskee Eagles 4-3 in the best of 7 games.
Due to Messalonskee being short a player, the Raiders started Joshua Starbird and Dylan McFarland for the 2v2 match up.

The Raiders lost the first game by a score of 2-1, with Dylan McFarland scoring the loan goal, and Josh and Dylan getting a save each.

In game 2, the Raiders clawed back, taking the win 2-1, with Josh and Dylan each scoring a goal, and a combined 4 saves.

Game 3 saw the Raiders continue to win, and turning up the offense to secure a 6-3 victory. Josh and Dylan split the load, each scoring 3 goals and 1 assist, and Dylan getting 2 saves to Josh's 1.

In game 4, the Eagles scored a quick 3 goals. The Raiders struggled to break through the defense until Josh scored two goals. Unfortunately, the Eagles defense tightened up, and the Raiders failed to score the tying goal, and also gave up a fourth, to lose the round by a score of 4-2. Josh led the offense battle, with 2 goals, while assisting managing a single save. Dylan worked hard to keep the Eagles from scoring, with 5 saves, and assisting Josh on one goal.

The Raiders bounced back in game 5, with Josh taking a save from the open kicking off, and bringing it across the field for a goal in the first 12 seconds. Only 28 seconds later, Josh found the back of the net again, to bring the Raiders ahead 2-0. The Eagles fought back with 2 unanswered goals, before Dylan McFarland scored two goals in rapid succession, followed by Josh scoring his third, to put the Raiders ahead 5-2, which they would carry to secure the win. Josh finished with 3 goals and 2 saves, while Dylan netted 2 goals and 1 save.

In game 6, the Raiders were hoping to take the win, and finish the match 4 games to 2, but were unable to win against a strong offensive push by the Eagles. The eagles scored 3 goals before the Raiders could rally, with Josh and Dylan each finding the net to try to start a comeback. Unfortunately, the Eagles offense push hard, and found the net for three more goals to take game 6 by a final score of 6-2. Josh and Dylan contributed nearly equal, with 1 goal and 1 assist each, but Dylan getting 3 saves, while Josh managed 2 saves.

With the round 6 victory, the Eagles tied the match, and forced the decisive round 7. The Eagles scored first, 50 seconds into the match, putting the pressure on the Raiders. After a tense, back and forth 1 minute, 16 seconds, Dylan was able to find Josh's rebound, to put in the tying goal. Josh would then proceed to score only 4 seconds later, taking Dylan's post goal kick-off to the net to score the go ahead goal. The Eagles pushed hard to try to tie the game back up, but Josh was able to take advantage of the strong offense effort, and send the ball over the two Eagles' players to score the empty netter. Later, after another strong offense push, Josh was able to pop the ball over the opposing team again, allowing Dylan to tap it in, to bring the score up a 4-1. The final 50 seconds of the match showed both teams pushing to score quickly, with Josh scoring a backwards goal to extend the lead, before the Eagles answered back with 1 second left in the match. The Raiders knocked down the ensuing kickoff as the clock hit zero, the lock up the 5-2 round 7 victory, and the 4-3 overall match victory.

Over the 7 rounds, Josh Starbird scored a total of 13 goals, while providing 4 assists, and 12 saves. Dylan McFarland found the net 10 times, with 6 assists, and 13 saves.
