Russellville Varsity Lady Indians Trounce Purple Glitter Sparkles

Russellville Varsity Lady Indians won big over Purple Glitter Sparkles 15-5 on Thursday.
Russellville Varsity Lady Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Lyla Blackwell singled down the left field line, Ava Beckel walked, and Kaylee Strobel walked, each scoring one run.
Purple Glitter Sparkles tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a double by Adelyn Phillps, and a single by C Plum.
In the bottom of the second, Russellville Varsity Lady Indians broke up the tie when Beckel hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 6-3.
Russellville Varsity Lady Indians scored six runs on one hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Callee Smith drew a walk, scoring one run, Strobel grounded out, scoring two runs, Joss Buschjost induced Gabby Stamp to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Cora Hickey doubled, scoring one run, and Blackwell drew a walk, scoring one run.
Karsyn Duncan earned the win for Russellville Varsity Lady Indians. The starter surrendered six hits and five runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Buschjost took the loss for Purple Glitter Sparkles. The pitcher went four and one-third innings, giving up 15 runs (13 earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking 10.
Strobel, the number eight hitter for Russellville Varsity Lady Indians, led the way with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Blackwell went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Russellville Varsity Lady Indians in hits. Russellville Varsity Lady Indians had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Cori Stewart, Blackwell, and Smith led the team with two bases on balls each. Russellville Varsity Lady Indians stole five bases in the game. Russellville Varsity Lady Indians turned one double play in the game.
Plum set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Purple Glitter Sparkles with two hits in three at bats. Phillps and M Blackburn each drove in two runs for Purple Glitter Sparkles.
Russellville Varsity Lady Indians will travel to Winfield for their next game on Saturday.
