😮‍💨 today was a heck of a day at the racetrack. some days you’ll make the beautiful pass to move in to and hold first place, but other days look like ours did today.

1️⃣ chloe’s race was a hot mess. after taking about 12 minutes for the field to finally get one completed lap in, she was in her head and just wasn’t holding the right line. she qualified 7th out of 8 and had so many opportunities to make moves - both to pass and block, but didn’t. she moved up to and finished 6th, but this race was definitely a hard lesson learned for her moving forward.

2️⃣ jarett qualified 5th out of 7 and was running a beautiful race until he was bulldozed into the wall on the front straightaway by another driver which knocked the toe out of his car and made it extremely loose - but he kept fighting HARD to make passes. he made it up to third, but a caution came out prior to finishing the lap so he lost that spot. we are so proud of his grit to keep trucking on and trying to catch another podium.

🏎️ while today was upsetting for the kfr team and we’re heading home without a podium finish, we know what to work on and will be ready to hit the track running for fall nationals in a few weeks.

🙌🏻 we’re baaaaaaack!

♥️ we know it’s been a little quiet over here this season, but we still feel all of your support! with the season winding down, the kids still have the fire to bring home the checkered flag, so we appreciate your continued following.

📢 DOUBLE-HEADER WEEKEND RECAP:

8️⃣ champ series race eight had Chloe and Jarett facing off against each other yet again. not only that, but they qualified to start in the same row in P3 and P4. this race was one of the best races we’ve seen this group of kids race! chloe was involved in a small tangle about halfway through which sent her to the back for the restart - despite that, she still came back to secure a fourth place finish after making some beautiful passes. jarett pushed hard, held beautiful lines, and had some absolutely stunning crossover passes which had him dancing between first and second place the entire race. he was holding first with one to go but got passed going into turn three but passed right back coming out of turn four. in the end, it was an actual photo finish! jarett secured a VERY close second place, which isn’t too shabby given how amazing this race was!

9️⃣ the kids were in separate races for champ series race nine. chloe was up first and it was a long, eventful, race with many restarts due to no fault of chloe’s. she kept her head on straight and tried hard to pass the P1 car but just could hold on to the spot, so she was able to bring home a second place finish. jarett’s race was a different story. he was running beautifully after starting from fourth but got put into the wall halfway through. after the restart, he didn’t scrub his tires to get the dirt off and decided to pull off under green because he thought something was wrong with the car (which there was not). while he got a DNF for this race, a BIG lesson was learned so that’s what he’s walking away with this round.

🥈overall, we are so proud of these two for fighting through the heat and adversity on the track. everytime they’re out there is an opportunity to learn how to improve, and they’ve been doing that since day one. now we’ve got another small break before cs race number ten!

🏁 jarett FINALLY secured his first CHECKERED FLAG for the season!

😮‍💨 it was a WILD race today, and only the second time these two faced off against each other on the track, but KFR is bringing home a double podium finish today. chloe started third and finished third, but not without facing and fighting through some adversity along the way. jarett started second and finished first thanks to holding a beautiful line and making some smart passes.

⏸️ now for a few weeks off for ‘summer break’ which just means more time to practice before our next race in july.

💪🏻 - champ series race #6 recap: it was incredibly hot yesterday - partly because of the weather and partly because of the performance of these two!

🔥 - chloe and jt ran in the same heat race which was the first time they’d been on track together in a field of other amazing racers. chlo started P2 and jt started P5. it was a great race with a few scuff ups among different kids but that didn’t stop these two - chloe’s P3 finish secured a P3 start in her feature and since jt WON the heat race, he secured a P1 start in his feature.

🏆 - it was a great end for the Rookie Extravaganza with KFR bringing home second place podium finishes in BOTH races and we couldn’t be more proud of these kids. they fought hard, ran beautiful lines, and showed up to win.
