one word sums up our clash recap - redemption. after a heartbreaking dixie shootout last weekend, these kids showed up and raced their tails off.

☝🏻friday: started with practice and driver intros featuring lugnut from charlotte motor speedway. then, we ran straight into heats. chloe started P2 in her heat race and quickly moved into P1, which put her on the POLE for the a-main. jarett started P6 and finished P5 which put him on the pole for the D-Main, which is what he held through the entire race, putting him in P5 for the C-Main. running through several lower mains is tough and tiring, but JT’s confidence had finally returned and he wasn’t going to go down without a fight.

✌🏻saturday: jarett ran his C-Main race from P5 but slipped back to P6 which was the end of his day. he held more precise lines than he has all season, but this was a field of seven other great racers and he just couldn’t set up a clean pass. this boy still raced with fire and showed all of us, and himself, that he’s still got it and he still wants it - badly. despite not making it to the A-Main, he was still in great spirits, and we are so proud of him.

🔥 chloe’s feature race started later in the day. she was P1 in a field of eight total cars. she made passes (inside AND outside) and held lines like she’d been doing this her whole life. it was incredible to watch, but also completely nerve racking. the checkered flag dropped, and our girl was the first to cross.

🏁 she’s bringing home the coveted North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) carolina clash belt, and we couldn’t be more proud of and excited for her.

after four long weekends of racing, we’ve finally got a bit of a break - AND some exciting news coming for champ series race three! thank you to everyone who cheer for these two from near and afar - your support does not go unnoticed!

👊🏻 IT’S CAROLINA CLASH WEEKEND!

the fun begins tomorrow at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) with driver intros and heat races. saturday holds lower mains and features!

✨ bonus excitement: tomorrow is ALSO jarett’s TENTH birthday! what a way to kickoff his birthday weekend.

we’ll update as the weekend goes along but, for now, send us all the good vibes - especially after the dixie last weekend. these two are ready to go!

😮‍💨 jarett: didn’t do so hot in his heat. was in his head, especially after the last two weeks, and spun himself out while leading his heat race, which caused a wreck that resulted in some pretty hefty damage to the front end of his car. after some quick repairs, we started last place (6th) in the alphabet soup climb (running through the d, c, and b mains to get to the feature) but, despite making it through to the c main as the alternate, his day ended there.

💔chloe: a beautiful start that lead to a tragic end. she started fifth in her heat race and made some beautiful moves to finish in second. this allowed her to qualify straight for the feature race in P4. after a long day of waiting for everyone else to finish up heats and lower mains, she was the first feature to run. she raced her HEART out, moved to P3 and had the podium in sight. as soon as the checkered flag dropped, the P1 and P2 cars got into each other coming out of turn four and chloe had nowhere to go. in trying to avoid the wreck altogether, she made the decision to go high which caused her left rear tire to skim the bumper of one of the wrecked cars. she never crossed the finish line - and watched the whole back half of the field take the podium she had fought SO HARD to hold on to. we all, but especially chloe, were completely heartbroken.

many tears were shed, but this was a humbling, though hard, lesson for us all. we’ve had many conversations today, and both kids are ready to show up, kick tails, and take names this coming weekend for the carolina clash.

will provide a more detailed update later, but yesterday was full of disappointment and a little heartbreak for these two.

as parents, there are only a few things worse than watching your kid bust their behind doing something they love only to have it ripped away with only a second left till the flying checkered flag.

lessons were learned, for all of us, and even though they hurt - they’re still extremely valuable. we’re just going to take this weekend and use it as fuel to kick tail next weekend for the Carolina Clash!

☝️round one of the dixie shootout series is finally here!

🏎️ wish these kids luck as they run heats first thing this morning to try to qualify straight to the a main. if they don’t, they’ll still have a chance to race their way in through running lowers.

🏆 they’re both pumped and ready - who wouldn’t be? they’ve got an opportunity to bring this incredible trophy home for taking first place!

😮‍💨 what a DAY.

both started off strong in their heat races - they each started first and ran beautifully to also finish first which put them on the POLE for their feature races.

⛓️‍💥unfortunately for our sweet boy, his chain that was too tight last week wore the gear down so much (something unknown to us, especially with his heat race run) that it kept slipping during the warmup laps of his race. we just weren’t able to fix the issue in time for him to get back on the track, so he didn’t have an opportunity to run the feature. we were all pretty upset and tears were shed, but lessons (for the grown ups) were learned.

🏁 chloe ran a race that kept us on the edge of our seats. that being said, she fought HARD and brought home her very first victory lane on her second ever race! when she came off the track and lifted her visor, she had tears in her eyes and so many friends surrounding her and cheering for her.

🙌🏻 despite being dealt a pretty crappy card two weeks in a row, jt maintained a positive, “at least i got first in my heat race!”, attitude. we are SO SO SO proud of both of them for so many reasons. next up, the Dixie Shootout Series next weekend! stay tuned!

NCQMA SEASON OPENER - ✔️

🏆- chloe was incredibly nervous before she got on the track. her first race ever was absolutely wild - she started fourth but held a beautiful line and made great passes. even through the adversity of her race timing out (rookies have a 20 lap or 20 minute limit, whichever comes first) and running almost sixteen of those twenty minutes under caution, we are so happy to say she was able to keep her head on straight and bring home a SECOND place podium.

🏎️ - jarett started and finished fourth, but not before making an amazing pass to take second place right off the start. however, his crew chief daddy tightened his chain a bit too much which scrubbed off the top end speed to hold of the back half of the field. despite this, and due to no fault of his own, he still fought his hardest and ran a great race.

🤍 - we are so proud of these two, and now that the first race jitters are out of the way and we all know what needs to be worked on - it’s only up from here!

📣 ONE. WEEK. TO. GO.

the knaub kids hit the track at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA) next saturday for race one of the championship series!

we got some practice in after the work day today, and SHOOOO WHEEEEE. these two are going to give each other a run for the money once they’re in the same class.

👀they both laid down some pretty amazing crossovers today. can’t wait to see what this season brings!

✨ trust the process.

jt’s car was fully stripped in order to paint the chassis. while we loved the pink, gray is more his speed. after several hours of hard work, it’s now back to being race ready for the season opener next weekend!

✔️ all that’s left is to upgrade our sponsor decals (featuring some new to KFR partners) and he’s ready to hit the track next weekend.
