Season Wrap Up!

What a great year for the Shells. Finishing the year 14-11 was a huge accomplishment after only having 1 win the year before. This was a special group and we hated that it ended early in regionals, but I will remember this team forever. This years accomplishments were truly a team effort. Whether girls got 100 plate appearances or 5, every girl contributed to the success. This team was full of “team first” attitudes and great teammates. It did not matter if they were in the lineup or not, our girls showed up to do whatever the team needed to reach our goals.

Softball is a team game and games are won and loss as a group. That being said, we had several individual awards to hand out.

A big thank you to Randy Cherry, Troy Rahn and Coach Ogle. Randy ran our GameChanger all year. Troy and Coach Ogle worked the scoreboard and announcing for us. We appreciate you fellas!

Another big thank you goes to our Team Manager, Kaylee Kane. Thanks for doing a great job of keeping the book for us!

Thank you to all of the parents, families and friends for the huge amount of support that we felt all year.

Big time shout out to these 2! This is a huge accomplishment for the year that they had. We are incredibly proud of them! They are going to do great things next year for Lincoln Land!

Huge congrats to the baseball boys on their REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! The heights that Coach Jerry Wheaton Jr. & Coach Robert Rahn have brought this program back to is amazing!! The support that the boys had for the girls this season & girls have for the boys is something special!! It’s not like this everywhere I can promise you that!! Congrats gentlemen, now go get that Sectional!!!

That’s a winner! Shells are Regional Champions! 6-5 in extras over Litchfield.

Bradley Herrin was outstanding in relief, holding Litchfield scoreless over the final three innings to give Roxana a chance. In the bottom of the eighth, Sean Maberry delivered the game-winning RBI single to send the Shells to a Regional Championship.

Shells are (24-8) and will play Wednesday @ 4:30 vs Williamsville at Pleasant Plains High School.

They say all good things come to an end…..tonight that end came in the Regional semi-final. The girls battled and competed like they always do down to the final at bat but came up short 3-2! Shells were held to just 3 hits and the only offense they could muster was a 2R HR by Maddie John in the 1st inning! It was a shame having a week and a half off between games due to last minute cancellations but we fought!! From a 1-20 season last year to finishing 14-11, this has been one of the biggest 1 year turnarounds in program history! Our SR’s paved the way & helped build a new culture & set a new standard that is gonna continue to be the foundation of Roxana Softball! Thank you Lilli & Ava!!! Now….lets keep building, keep setting the standard, & strengthening the foundation!!

It’s only fitting that our 2 SR’s lead the way on SR day!! Ava Cherry goes 4-4 with a HR, 2B, 4R, 4RBI out of the leadoff spot! Lilli Ray goes 3-3 4 RBI! Both girls added in a SB apiece! Josie Brannon & Raegan Martin both had 2 hit days as well! Lady Shells exploded for 8 runs in the 1st inning & never looked back picking up a 16-5 win collecting 13 hits as a team! The win moves the girls to 14-10 on the season and guarantees a winning season!! It’s been an incredible turnaround & great story but we aren’t done yet!!! Thank you Lilli & Ava for your dedication and commitment to the culture of Roxana Softball!! We ❤️ you!!! LETS GO SHELLS ❤️💙💛🔱🥎💪
