Cleveland City Schools and Cleveland High School - Home of the Blue Raiders is excited to announce Brent Tucker as the new head baseball coach for the Cleveland High School baseball program. With 28 years of coaching experience and an unwavering commitment to athletic excellence and personal growth, Tucker is poised to lead the Blue Raiders into a new era.
“We are thrilled to have Brent Tucker join our faculty as the head baseball coach,” Principal Bob Pritchard said. “His exceptional coaching experience and dedication to the development of student-athletes align perfectly with our school’s vision. We are confident that Coach Tucker will inspire our players to reach new heights both on and off the field.”
Tucker comes from North Georgia where he served as the head baseball coach at Rome High School since 2019. Prior to his time at Rome, Tucker served as the head baseball coach at Ringgold High School for 12 years.
Athletic Director Al Morris spoke highly of Tucker’s qualifications, saying, “His passion for baseball and his commitment to the development of student-athletes make him an outstanding choice for this position. We are confident that under his guidance, our student-athletes will thrive and make Cleveland High School proud.”
Throughout his career, Tucker has a record of 427 wins and 212 losses. His teams have captured 10 region championships, made four appearances in their respective state tournament's final four, and were runners-up twice. Furthermore, Tucker's coaching prowess has resulted in more than 60 of his players earning college scholarships, including 27 players signing with Division I programs. Additionally, four of his players have been selected in the MLB draft, a testament to his ability to prepare athletes for the highest level of competition.
Tucker played baseball for Chattanooga State for two years before he transferred to Shorter University, where he secured three conference championships and was named an All-Conference player on three occasions. His experience as a player undoubtedly provides him with valuable insights into the game and allows him to connect with his athletes on a deeper level.
Cleveland High School is thrilled to welcome Brent Tucker to the Raider Drive baseball program. His wealth of experience, proven leadership, and passion for the game make him an ideal fit to guide the team to new heights. The entire school community eagerly anticipates the upcoming season under Coach Tucker's guidance.
