I made a small update to our rulebook. I added three Shark RC Body products to the approved body list. I also added that we can now use decked Street Stock Bodies.

If a racer would like to use a body that does not come decked, they are allowed to. The decking must be made from Lexan or other flexible plastic. Materials that would not be allowed are, metal of any kind, glass, fiberglass, carbon fiber, drywall or leftover granite. If you are wondering if your chosen material is okay, please ask.

The side windows must be left intact. Please note that it has always been the rule that street stock spoilers are not allowed to have endplates.

For now, no additional "roll cage" bracing will be allowed between the deck and roof. If we see it becoming a problem with durability we will consider allowing it in future rule updates.

Sorry guys. We need to cancel practice tonight. It's a little too wet still. If anyone is available tomorrow, Friday, Will and I will be out there at about 11 to torch and tamp it.

We are still on for racing Saturday.

We had another very successful race at the Roseburg Outlaw RC Club this weekend.

There were two new drivers in Street Stock. Daniel Sebenick and Catie Cooley. Sebenick had the fastest single lap in A1. He is just a bit of radio tuning away from consistent podiums. Cooley calmed her beginners jitters in A2 improving her consistency from around 40% in A1 to 68% in A2. Cooley will definitely keep improving.

360 Sprints A1 saw Brian Cline fail to start due to a blown steering servo. Brantley Cooley battled with veteran Ron Bolles to take the win in A1. He followed it up with a fourth place finish in A2. Allen Mann with a brand new Triple P sprint car played spoiler taking second place behind Cline which knocked Bolles back to third in A2. Cooley took the overall win with a 1-4 to Bolles 2-3. I should also point out that Allen Mann made the show the hard way by coming up through the B Main.

In Losi Spec Sprints Eric Kolari and Danile Sebenick split the wins and came down to a tie breaker. Kolari got the overall with a 5/5:33.951 to Sebenick’s 50/5:42.850. Aaron Mcgraw took third.

Midgets was won by Russ Wools. Second place went to Justin Barron with his best finish ever followed by Will Moorhead.

Brian Cline and Ron Mcbride stole the show in Late Models. Cline took first and Mcbride second overall. Third and final spot on the podium came down to a tie breaker between Jeremy Ohlde and Travis Cooley. Ohlden got the position with a 45/4:19.370.

Travis Cooley took first in Sc Mods followed by Chase Kelley and Brantley Cooley.

Dave Wooden swept Street Stocks with TQ and two wins. Followed by Will Moorhead and Allen Mann. In A1 the top four drivers all finished on the lead lap.

Traxxas was a repeat of Losi Sprints with Kolari and Sebenick coming to a tiebreaker for first followed by Aaron Mcgraw in third. Mcgraw did pick up the win in A2 but the fourth place in A1 cost him the overall.

The next race is in three weeks , February 7. There will be a practice in Sunday January 25 and another on February 5. Come on out and turn some laps. I hope to see everyone there.

RORC Fall season race #5

We had another great turnout at the only indoor RC dirt oval track in Oregon.

We had a new driver come up from Central Point to race with us. Jeff Samuelson raced the Losi Spec Sprint Class he improved steadily throughout the day and was able to finish fourth in the second event. Great job Jeff.

Super Stock Slash did their 100 lap Main events. There was some breakage and some miscalculations on battery capacity. In the end Daniel Sebenick took the win with P2/P1 finishes. Eric Kolari got second by going P1/P3 and Justin Barron stayed consistent to pick up third by taking to P4 finishes.

Street Stock was won by Dave Wooden on the tiebreaker with Top Qualifier Russ Wools. In A1 Wools rolled his car on lap two and had to work through the field to make the pass on Dave Wooden on the last lap. In A2 Wooden and Wools battled the entire race. Wooden’s time of 5:10.928 was four seconds faster than Wools’ time in A1 giving him the win. Will Moorhead rounded out the podium with two P3 finishes.

Eric Kolari and Ray Dougherty split the wins in B-Mods. Kolari won on the tiebreaker with a faster time in A1 by less than a second. Kolari in A1 had 50/5:22.872 vs Dougherty in A2 had 50/5:23.388. Aaron McGraw took third place.

In the SC-Mods Brantley Cooley and Chase Kelley battled hard in A1 with Kelley taking the win. In A2 Cooley settled in and got a win with a 50/4:32.815. Kelley fell back to third A2 allowing Cooley to take first place overall. Kelley settled for second and the top three was rounded out by Travis Cooley in third.

Rick Bounds won the Open Late Model Mains overall. He and Travis Cooley split the victories but Bounds in blistering 50/4:30.164 in A1 earned him first on the tie breaker. Dave Wooden and Andrew Blankenship also came down to a tiebreaker for third. Wooden got it with a faster time in A2 48/4:38.708.

Russ Wools and Will Moorhead finished one two in Midgets. They traded the lead several times in A1 with Wools coming out on top. Wools led A2 from start to finish to clinch the victory. There was a three-way tie for third between Eric Kolari, Brandon Moorhead and Dave Wooden. Kolari won that with a third place in in A2 and a time of 48/5:16.397.

360 Sprints was won by Russ Wools with a P1/P3 followed by Brantley Cooley P4/P1 and Andrew Blankenship P5/P2. There was a great battle between Blankenship and Wools for second midrace before Wools broke free and tried to run down Cooley. On lap 38 Wools in the back straight wall and flipped end over end for nearly 4 seconds, handing over an surmountable lead to Cooley and second place to Blankenship.

The next race will be November 1. It’s going to be the double points race for Midgets. Hope to see everyone there.

Our RC Club has grown enough in the last year or so, that I think it's time to create an RC Club FB profile separate from my personal account. This account will be the administrator for our FB Group.
