Bulldogs Win 4-1 Behind Lochbiler’s Dominant Outing

Behind a spectacular 10-strikeout performance from Josh Lochbiler (‘26), the Bulldogs defeated Seaholm 4-1.

Lochbiler went the distance, giving up just one run on three hits over seven innings of work.

Romeo’s offense came alive in the bottom of the third inning, locking down all four of their runs. Brody Meier (‘26) drove in two with a clutch single, Ethan Vogel (‘28) brought home another after being hit by a pitch, and Joey Nepa (‘26) tacked on the final run with a two groundout. Meier, Vogel, and Sammy Nepa (‘26) provided hits for the Bulldogs, with Meier leading the way with 2 RBIs.

Tuesday, May 19

Brody Meier (‘26) went a perfect 3-3 at the plate to pace the Romeo Varsity Bulldogs to a convincing 9-3 victory over Frankenmuth.

Romeo wasted no time getting on the board, knotting the game at 1-1 in the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Ethan Vogel (‘28). The Bulldogs seized control in the second, when Geno Bidler (‘28) ripped a run-scoring triple and Parker Cohoon (‘27) added a sacrifice fly to push the advantage to 3-1.

Romeo extended its lead to 4-3 in the third inning on a ground out by Vogel, who continued to come through in key situations throughout the afternoon.

On the mound, Nick Kaminski (‘26) got the start and worked two solid innings, allowing three hits and one run while punching out four.

Mason Pilotto (‘28) followed out of the bullpen before Anthony Gergely (‘26) took over and shut the door, tossing four and two-thirds dominant innings. Gergely held Frankenmuth to just two hits and no runs while striking out 12 and issuing only one walk to earn the win.

The Bulldogs finished the game with 11 hits, a balanced offensive effort that backed up an outstanding performance from their pitching staff.
