Let me start off by saying, I am not a professional. I am still learning the game just like everyone else, I just want to help everyone fix the same mistakes I made and still make.
3 mistakes new disc golfers make:
❌ Skipping standstills
❌ Rounding their pull
❌ Throwing hard instead of throwing right
1. Everyone wants to run up and bomb drives right away, but that’s a mistake.
Standstill throws build your foundation: balance, timing, and clean release.
2. Rounding is one of the biggest distance killers in disc golf. Instead of pulling the disc in a straight line, players swing it around their body.
3. Trying to muscle every throw is the fastest way to plateau. Power without form = inconsistency.
The best players aren’t throwing harder, they’re throwing cleaner.
Slow down. Fix your form. Distance will come.
